Apologies for the very slow response. Well played, that was probably the biggest slapping that anyone has given me since I started playing again. It was my own fault, I played a very sharp opening gambit and was still following theory until move 8 or 9 when I got my move order mixed up. (It’s really annoying because the game was following another game that I was playing where I had already played them in the correct order) That might not sound like much of an error, but when you’re already gambiting two pawns you really have to be precise. Thanks for the game, I don’t know how much of it was book was it was a typical Benko Gambit game. I was worried that I had misplayed it and maybe wasn’t going to get enough compensation for my pawn but my active rooks and bishop meant you always had to be careful. Ziggy Posted February 12, 2022 Share Posted February 12, 2022 Another couple of wins which I don’t know if they’ve been reported or not. Ziggy beats gkneil - I like playing gkneil. He always comes out punching so you’re guaranteed an entertaining game. Ziggy beats Beef - Beef never really got going, lost a pawn quite early on and I was able to simplify into a nice endgame where all my pieces were just a bit better than my opponents. gkneil Posted February 14, 2022 Share Posted February 14, 2022 (edited) Beef2711 defeats gkneil on time - got locked out the phone yesterday while travelling and didn't manage to get on to make a move unfortunately (something in my pocket must have been triggering the screen into thinking the password was being inputted and I'm at the stage of trying to go through Apple to get back into the phone) Luckily made it online this morning with 7min to spare to make a move against Dearyme though at the rate I may have been better to just let the time expire..... Another though game after my opponent trapped my queen and i was basically fending off until managing a check queen fork of my own at the end.
