Lurkst
I've never heard the word "porn" mentioned on the news as much as it has been tonight. Fascinating to hear the different ways it's pronounced. Edited April 27, 2022 by Lurkst
101
A sad day for our democracy as the electoral commission lose their independence.
williemillersmoustache
Cunning of the government to schedule the vote for when 100 job for life class traitor ermine clad labour c***s were having their tax payer subsidised lobster thermador and couldn't (be arsed to) show up.
scottsdad
The irony here is that folk are saying that this vote by unelected peers is a threat to democracy. The very existence of the Lords is shameful in a modern democracy.

Female Tory MPs have reported it, it will be difficult to sweep it under the carpet, Johnson has no moral authority to do anything but will be forced to, any MP daft enough to have done this may also be willing to turn their guns on Johnson if disciplined. Various posters have been saying "don't underestimate the significance of this!" for the best part of two years as crisis after crisis has engulfed the Tory party. Want to guess what's happened to them as a result of these crises? Absolutely nothing.

He could pronounce it to rhyme with 'talk'. Which is the origin of the Cockney rhyming slang 'rabbit' to mean talk a lot - rabbit and pork.

I'm genuinely at a loss as to how we have fallen this far. https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/who-we-are-and-what-we-do/our-views-and-research/key-correspondence/letter-commissioners-strategy-and-policy-statement-measures-elections-bill

Key individual figures in the Tory Party have not had such poor personal ratings. Yes I'd agree an absolute disgraceful that do few Labour Lords turned out to vote this down, perhaps them being in the second chamber has eroded their sense of democracy.
Granny Danger
When Scotland becomes Independent there will be a need for some sort of second chamber. Not sure the best option but definitely not an unelected one dependent upon patronage.
Suspect Device
I take it the senior MP hasn't been named yet. Mark Francois name is bandied about for the obvious reasons but no official confirmation.

Opinion polls midway through a term count for shit. Wait until election time, the Tory Press will ramp up the rhetoric and gullible idiots will return a Tory government.

Should be easy to narrow it down a bit, assuming the part about the female MP who reported him actually was "sitting next to him" and that doesn't just mean she was near enough to see what he was doing. Just check out all the front-bench MPs sitting next to a woman.
