Tory Lies, Corruption and Hypocrisy- Add Them Here

I quite liked "Theresa May, a tottering mechanical seabird that has swallowed a kazoo".

It is remarkable how even the right-wing press find it difficult to find pictures of Patel where she doesn't look like she's just heard of a new virus that kills people earning under £100K.

Maybe you should have a closer look at the job your accountant is doing - they're maybe just not trying hard enough. That's unsubstantiated speculation of course - same as that shite about Rees-Mogg being right to get these idle so and so's back to an office. Rees-Mogg is a multi-faced, tax avoiding w****r who's never happier than when he's introducing policies to kill the poor. If you're on the same side as that c**t there's no more to be said.

You’re probably not interested in anything other than slagging off toaaarrries but in case there is a sensible part to you, I have in fact been on to Azets at a high level and the kind of problem I have been facing is happening across the board at HMRC. Most run of the mill parts of the system such as PAYE, self assessment etc., are fine but specialist areas such as CGT, IHT, etc are very much in arrears, in some cases years. I have just received a Penalty Notice of 5% of the tax purported to be due which has had to be appealed and the officer dealing with the case asked for a letter, yes a letter to be sent to a specific address for the matter to be dealt with. So much for electronic wizardry.

Said letter will be scanned and indexed on receipt though as all paper correspondence will be making it instantly accessible to anyone in the organisation in any location. As I said earlier it's not the 60s, all big organisations will be working with electronic filing and DIP systems so there is no element of warehouses full of backlogged correspondence and if HMRC are in that situation then it has bugger all to do with the pandemic or WFH and all to do with them operating in the dark ages but they simply won't be.

They've been banging on about the evils of 'elf and safety for decades.

Can't say it occurred to me that child safety would be top of the list for cutbacks, but it won't be the majority of their voters who'll suffer, which is the important thing.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/apr/26/boris-johnson-northern-ireland-brexit-protocol

"One day, when Boris Johnson is no longer prime minister and the full catalogue of his frauds is compiled, a special place will belong to one that got him elected in the first place. Before he attended any lockdown parties, before there were pandemic rules to break or lies to tell about the breakage, there was the promise to Get Brexit Done.

It is not done. That is why Johnson’s government is drafting a law that would give ministers the power to override the Northern Ireland protocol of the Brexit deal. This is the very treaty that Johnson hailed as “great”, “excellent”, a fulfilment of all his negotiating ambitions. If that were true, he would not now be planning to set it on fire."

This is part of the real reason they wanted to leave the EU. ££££££ over everything.

If there's one thing we've established over the past few years, it's that Western leaders no longer have to quit.

They barely have to pay attention to the laws of the land so long as their own party still finds them useful.

No doubt somebody somewhere is shocked by this.

I wouldn’t underestimate the significance of this.  Female Tory MPs have reported it, it will be difficult to sweep it under the carpet, Johnson has no moral authority to do anything but will be forced to, any MP daft enough to have done this may also be willing to turn their guns on Johnson if disciplined.

I mean, when you hear some MP has been caught watching porn in parliament you don't even need to ask which party. It would only be a shock if it wasn't a Tory.

DUP Definitely Using Porn?
