Highlandmagar
Amazing that Sky and BBC are jizzing their pants at the prospect of the Tories will lose this. Not a chance. It will breeze through.

Salt n Vinegar
I understand that as part of the scheme, some residents of Rwanda will be able to claim asylum in the UK. Anyone know on why anyone staying in a "safe" country like Rwanda could possibly want asylum in such a welcoming place for asylum seekers as the UK?

Jedi2
They have shown themselves, as was the case with Brexit, to be run by the mad ERG, who will now get their ammendments (presumably breaking International Law), just to allow Sunak to stand in front of a board saying Stop the Boats at the GE, this time next year. Will probably deny Starmer his majority. With any luck.
The Golden God
DUP voting against, not for humanitarian reasons, but because it affects their precious protocol, is absolutely hilarious and slightly depressing.
Salt n Vinegar
He didn't give a source for the info, but I think I've heard James O'Brien say this morning that Rwanda has an absolute say on who goes/doesn't go there under the scheme and that the UK will have no control on that aspect at all. Obviously some use of the expression "taking back control" with which I had been previously unfamiliar.

It will face a stormy passage in the Lord's and there will be future opportunities for amendments which will hinder it's passage. Hopefully it will never see the light of day. It's going to be like May's Brexit Bill. It's too right wing for Tory moderates and not right wing enough for the Tory right. MEADOWXI
Hopefully another by-election, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-67714132 Scott Benton faces being suspended from Parliament, after the Commons standards watchdog found he committed a "very serious breach" of lobbying rules. The Committee on Standards recommended the MP should be suspended for 35 days. If approved by MPs, this could lead to a by-election in his Blackpool South constituency. Mr Benton was suspended as a Tory MP earlier this year after he was filmed offering to lobby ministers for a fake company in a newspaper sting. In a meeting with reporters posing as gambling industry investors, he was caught offering to lobby ministers and table parliamentary questions. The committee's report said he had given the message "he was corrupt and 'for sale'".

I think the SNP vote would be decimated as well though. And they've got (mostly) only themselves to blame for it. The Mrs Bone joke wore a bit thin eventually, perhaps on account of him taking to do with a woman twenty years younger than he. Still, all very jolly.
