Now thats a proper pair of semi finals. Surely puts final nail in junior cup when you see the quality in this cup. Get the north south and highland league involved and you’ve got a proper non league cup

Get the north south and highland league involved and you’ve got a proper non league cup There's been moves behind the scenes to try & achieve this by the pyramid leagues taking part in the SCC but I can't see an expansion in place for next season. The SJFA also have their own plans to expand the Junior Cup but as per @Burnieman at a recent EOS meeting that idea went down like a led balloon which is telling considering the majority of EOSL clubs took part in the competition not so long ago. Also for next season there's the possibility of the Junior Cup shrinking again as there's a chance of clubs resigning their SJFA membership with at least one club publicly stating it's a possibility for them. And would attract the same amount of fans as a previous junior cup final?

You won't get EoS clubs entering the Junior Cup, maybe a few of the remaining hard core who held out and ended up in Conference X, but not much more particularly now that it's clear that LL clubs are not interested. The EoS asked for feedback and there was hardly any positive noises. The South Challenge Cup is therefore already more attractive with LL, EoS, WoS and SoS all involved. Perhaps the organising committee should look at inviting Midlands League clubs and see what the reaction is. Rename it The Challenge Trophy to remove the regional aspect. That's probably as good as it would get short term as the northern clubs really aren't interested as a whole. The HL view the Scottish Cup as their national competition and that's fair enough. The SJFA should just wrap-up and distribute funds amongst remaining members to help towards licencing costs.

Get the north south and highland league involved and you’ve got a proper non league cup The SJFA had proposed an all in national non league cup, but teams in the north weren't interested. They are apparently submitting a revised proposal, but I have no idea what that is.

glensmad
Are you able to share this proposal? I should have worded that better, i.e. there is another proposal being discussed by the WoSFL, EoSFL and SoSFL. It has not yet been formally endorsed by the various leagues' member clubs. I don't have the fine detail to hand at the moment.
