Duncan Scott picked up an exceptional 2 individual medals, Peaty 1. There were 14 individual Finals. Bearing in mind James Guy sacrificed his individual chances, of medalling, in the Butterfly, to aid them in winning relay medals. Swimmers like Phelps & Spitz only come along pretty much once in a lifetime.

You need far more people to win a hockey medal than a swimming medal, so looking at funding per medal is not a fair comparison.
peasy23
Was that not Hoy? Knew Borge had him over a flat out sprint, but he was the Kilo WC/WR holder; so went for it straight from the gun. Hoy might have done it as well but I remember Kenny being interviewed afterwards and saying he would have loved the 3rd leg to go ahead as Borge was blowing out of his arse after that 2nd run. Hoy had it done to him in a match sprint.
DeeTillEhDeh
It's not anywhere a fair comparison for many reasons, but in particular the numbers of athletes needed to win each medal. For example, in swimming, you could have a single person winning 4 or even 5 medals on their own, but you need a 16 person hockey squad that can only win 1.Boxing also gets it easier because they don't have 3rd/4th playoff like every other sport.I've always thought that's a nonsense.

Might be more chance that they could take part in an Olympics.Although if the ICC are involved in the organisation of it....

They’ve been good at sevens for a long time. If anything I think the current crop might have passed their peak going on what I saw at the olympics.

Should wrestling, handball and volleyball have been removed from London 2012? Cricket is one of the most popular sports on earth and it's ridiculous that it isn't in the Olympics. Sooner it is in, the better.

kiddy
Britain's silver in the Athletics 4 x 100 men's relay up in smoke. As one of the team tests +ve.https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/58193101Considering how devastated Mitchell-Blake was at being pipped for Gold. I wouldn't like to be in that guys shoes, when he finds out his medal has to get sent back.

A huge number of cheats were exposed when their samples were re-tested.
