Barry Ferguson's Hat
We don't expect Hollywood actors to churn out multiple blockbusters each week so I don't know why it should be expected of players in the prem.
velo army
As far as I can see the reason for a strike would be a fixture list that leaves players little time for recovery and increases chance of injury. In any other line of work it would be considered reasonable to refuse to work in conditions that increased risk of injury. How much you earn shouldn't have any bearing on this.
mizfit
Don’t the clubs and the PL have a say in the fixtures? They could vote for a winter break if they really wanted to.

I’m not entirely sure a footballer picking up a muscle injury, as their manager isn’t interested in rotating their bloated squad can be equated to a routine workplace that risks injury of an employee. The audacity to even mention striking is wild. Players and managers have numerous options if they are genuinely unhappy about it - options which people who genuinely need to strike about something don’t have.
vikingTON
Wonder when the baldy fraud will call for a strike to protest against the murdering petrostate who pays his wages and funds his 'project'.

Have a maximum number of minutes a player can play per week. The clubs should still fulfill the fixtures though. If Manchester Blue can't raise XI mercenaries to turn out for them then tough shit.

If the players have a problem about it they should speak to their manager. With all the millions the Premier League clubs have there’s absolutely no excuse for not having decent backup options available.

If players have a problem it maybe ought to be with the management of their clubs prioritising points over safety.
mizfit
So, presumably there will be no more calls offs before Boxing Day?
Bully Wee Villa
Villa v Burnley was called off about an hour before kick off and I think it was the same for Watford v Burnley a few days earlier. I reckon at least one more game will go. Probably at short notice.

Bully Wee Villa
A 16 or 18 team league would be dreadful. It should be 22 or 24. Also, teams in Europe should have to enter the League Cup in the Second Round. Slash the tedious "Champions" League to make room.

Bairnardo
Just seen Jack Grealish giving himself a wee pass for being hopeless, and saying he has heard some folk take a year to settle in at City....This is why he will never be key to that City team and why he is never, ever worth that sort of money. His attitude is nowhere near it.
Bairnardo
Imagine paying 100 million for a bang average player whose main attribute is diving.
