Conceding twice and scoring a ridiculous own goal is a pretty good game for Maguire tbf. And can't believe there is still a school of thought that Rooney was better than Ibrahimovic, or that Kane is on a par with Benzema. The mind boggles. He had to slide in to try and stop the cross otherwise Romero would have had a tap in and McGuire wouldn’t have known he was offside in that split second. Yeah it was pretty ridiculous, bad defending at any level. You can cut out that cross without putting it in your own net. He's totally at fault for the goal, as he often is. And I have nothing against Rooney, he was a great natural talent but really wasted it. He was a very good player but not as good as Ibrahimovic or Kane (or even that close really). He was the top scorer for England, no mean feat, but was shit at every major tournament except 2004 (where he was sent off in disgrace).
