Ayr vs Arbroath

Recommended Posts

Massive 2 points dropped,
2nd half approach and subs didn't work,
Saying that if penalty went in we would go on to win the game,
Not good enough in middle of park,
Linn has to play from start to attack or when we need a goal or someone to carry the ball and waist time,
Mckenna needs to play off Nouble,
Patterson is a waste if a wage by seems of it,

A bit harsh to judge Paterson. From the little we’ve seen he has potential. Dick makes very conservative selections, so yes, may be a waste of a wage if he never gets a game.

And?who honestly cares. His work rate meant f**k all when he fired his corner at the first man, and even less when he could’ve played Stewart through but played it 5 yards behind him.

Cmon. He got 11 minutes today. But I agree he should never take corners.

“a bunch of part timers” who beat you 3 times last season.

Ayr have been part time for most of the last two decades. It's not like calling you a pub team, it's simply pointing out that Ayr have a demonstrable built-in advantage here (which they pay a lot of money for). Most Ayr fans would happily recognise that Arbroath deserve extra credit for finishing above them last season despite Ayr being demonstrably shit for most of it.

Tough one to take. Better team for 60 minutes but crumpled like a cheap Slaters suit from there. Can the usual suspects please go easy on Clark this week. He played well

Good touch to let ayr up the park for their first goal [emoji2957]

Deservedly so and nobody could have complained we were hard done by if we lost today.  You can both accept Arbroath are a good championship team and complain that your full time players aren't a match for their part time opposition, after all what are they doing with the extra training and nice rest.

Should also mention that the price of £18 for the live stream was a total rip of

As a support we were up in arms last season with the prices that Hearts were charging for the stream.

I don't see why other clubs should be overcharged as well. £18 is pretty steep and if fans feel like they're being offered poor value then those that would have paid just won't bother. The club should have gauged things a bit better to be honest, perhaps they did.

Ultimately, we'll lose out in the bigger picture.

Nouble gave up playing in the second half and decided to have a seat every time he had the ball at his feet, that seemed to be the big difference. May have been fitness but he ran the game for the first half, gave a master class in one up front football.

Ayr gifted 2 goals and did nothing, Arbroath tried to kill the game and see out a 2-0 when we were there for the taking. Very much a case of Arbroath blowing 3 points than Ayr rescuing a draw

He was nowhere near as effective once McKenna was inexplicably moved out to the wing I thought. Some mad tactical decisions from dick today.

Amazed we pulled a draw out of that, what a trash team Hopkin has built.
Smile not intended bit it won't delete emoji2.png

I actually think there is some decent talent at championship level but the tactics are honking

This is a level where the ability of the manager makes a tremendous difference, arguably more so than anywhere else in the pyramid.

Dick is a superb manager in terms of recruitment and man management. But tactically in-game he isn’t very good. Understatement.
