In a fairly strong field, your post is right up there with the most ridiculous things seen in this forum.

after the events of today, imagine scouring the field to find this and then this being the primary focus of your lens. Good grief.

I'd like to say you're better than this, but all the recent evidence points to the contrary I'm afraid.

Nats are trying to make political capital out of the Ukraine situation.  They are bleating about 'territorial integrity' and 'international law' whilst, at the same time, impinging on Britain's territorial integrity and trying to set aside the Treaty of Union - which ticks all of the 'international law' boxes.

You may lack sufficient self-awareness to see the massive hypocrisy here.

EDIT I posted this here so as not to subvert the decent thread on Ukraine in GN.  This part of the forum is a bit of a sandbox so contrary opinions are welcome and should be taken in good part.  Greetin' about 'better than this' and suchlike really isn't helpful.

That's exactly what you're doing.

There's no such country as "Britain", so I would suggest that you are mistaken.

Perhaps you meant the UK's territorial integrity? As you are aware, that was significantly reduced in the 1920's, so there is an existing precedent.

The fact that you see parallels between the two situations is pretty alarming tbh.

It's also just a beige Facebook post showing some kind of solidarity which will have been posted in some sort of fashion by thousands of states, organisations, cities, local authorities etc.

Truly deranged posting by yourself.

Great Britain was the nation created, under international law, in 1707 and is commonly refereed to a 'Britain'.  Nothing controversial here.

That nation's territorial integrity has to be respected as does the treaty which created it. Sad that you don't do either.

So I am perfectly content that ScotchNat politicians - and their acolytes - shedding crocodile tears over both issues, are massive hypocrites.

When you have partitionist-minded politicians applying principles abroad which they actively try and subvert at home you can't not see parallels.

But then if they could do joined-up thinking they'd not be supporting a movement of sedition.

Mind that time it wasn’t, though - when your state broke up despite BritNats crying about the integrity of their treaty?

That it be first article of the union of the kingdoms of Great Britain and Ireland, that the said kingdoms of Great Britain and Ireland shall, upon the first day of January, which shall be in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and one, and for ever, be united into one kingdom, by the name of “the united kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland,” and that the royal stile and titles appertaining to the imperial crown of the said united kingdom and its dependencies, and also the ensigns, armourial flags and banners thereof, shall be such as his Majesty by his royal proclamation under the great seal of the united kingdom shall be pleased to appoint.

Which includes every Little Englander who supports the continued partition of Ireland.

Does "Great Britain" exist as nation state today? If not, what on earth are you on about?

In 1707, modern day Ukraine was partly in Russia, and partly in the Ottoman empire. Are you looking for a return to these borders?

Great Britain still refers to the same thing - the delightful conjoining that we've all benefited from over 300+ years.

I'm looking for joined-up thinking from the ScotchNats - which I know is a stretch.

Apply the same thinking to Britain as they do to Ukraine.

I'm all for 'territorial integrity' and 'international law' both at home and abroad.  ScotchNats?  Not so much.
