Winter Olympics Beijing 2022

Tough to grudge Edin his gold after a lot of near misses.

These guys are a young team. They’ve got at least two more Olympics in them and the other top teams in the world are all coming to the end of their careers. I think we’re going to be hearing a lot more about curling in the mainstream media going forward.

Agreed. Edin is excellent player and he played so well.

Mouat is world number 1 and he’ll be back.

If you’re looking for an omen for the women, Edin wins gold at his 4th and likely final Olympics after three near misses (4th, 2nd, 3rd). Eve is also at her fourth and likely final Olympics after three near misses (7th, 3rd, 4th)

Don't see why she couldn't appear at a few Olympics yet. Jennifer Jones has turned up age 47. Muirhead is 31.

It’s quite funny but silver is almost the worst medal to win. If you get the bronze then you use up the disappointment in the semi final but then you get the elation of winning the 3rd place playoff to earn your medal. Silver just feels a bit empty.

Dave wotsispus in the skiing would have loved a silver

Jones shouldn’t have been picked, Canada whiffed a bit on that one. They’re pretty wedded to the idea that you need to hold an Olympic trial and select the winning team of that but the risk is that a team (in this case Jones) win it thanks to a strong performance that particular week even though they don’t give you the best chance to win a medal.

Kerri Einarson has been the Canadian champion three years in a row and her rink should have been chosen.

The reason I don’t think we’ll see Eve in Milan-Cortina isn’t because of her age per se but like Niklas Edin she’s had a lot of injuries in the past few seasons and it’s tough to see her still being our best option in four years given that we have some decent young skips who could be ready to play with this tailor made rink (Vicky and Hailey are both slightly younger and Jen Dodds, whilst she is 30, has only recently become a full time curler so her body might have a bit more in the tank compared to Eve who’s been full time for over a decade). Like I say it’s not impossible by any means that Eve is back but I’d lean towards it being her last games, especially if she wins the gold and decides to end on a high.

Personally would like to see them win it, if only to wind up the Yanks.

Finland don't have a woman beater playing for them it's an easy choice tbh Slava Voynov Suspended, Charged Following Arrest: Latest Details and Reaction | Bleacher Report | Latest News, Videos and Highlights
