The conflict between the two countries was discussed at the session of the UN Security Council. From this, the following conclusion was drawn: Ukraine has not registered its borders since 12/25/1991. The UN has not registered the borders of Ukraine as a sovereign state. Therefore, it can be assumed that Russia is not committing any rights violations in relation to Ukraine. According to the CIS Treaty, the territory of Ukraine is an administrative district of the USSR. Therefore, no one can be blamed for separatism and forcibly changing the borders of Ukraine Ukraine fielding an ineligible border? Kicked out the cup.

It surely doesn't pose any more threat than Hunterston A ??? errrm no, Chernobyl wasn't decommissioned. They're in the process of decommissioning 3 of the reactors but the 4th (the one that blew up) is still highly radioactive which is why a massive containment structure has been built over it. the plan is to contain the radiation until it's no longer dangerous which will take possibly hundreds of years.

You couldn't use the other 3 reactors could you, there isn't any motive to capture it other than its on a main route into Kyiv?

TheGoon
The speed at which they’re advancing towards Kyiv is frightening. Wouldn’t surprise me if they’re running it by close of play tomorrow. I still expect us and the yanks to be fairly stand off, but if Putin genuinly has eyes for elsewhere (still pretty yninown at the minute) then shit is going to hit the fan rather quickly.

They were in use for quite a while after the disaster. Think they were actual switched off and stopped producing electricity years ago though. No idea how much dangerous crap is still on the site though. If the containment facility over the gubbed reactor is breached that won't be a pleasant day out in Pripyat.
Comrie
Looks like the West is going with the "stern look" approach to Putin. If he succeeds in turning over Ukraine, I wonder who'll be his next target?

Yes, but I was more meaning that it's surely not the "threat" that some seemed to be making out. What would be the point ??
