Donathan Posted April 2, 2023 Share Posted April 2, 2023 What we’ve just seen is a perfect example of what’s good about VAR. A perfectly legitimate goal was erroneously chalked off because offside decisions are hard to get right with the naked eye in real time. VAR officials with the benefit of video replays and multiple angles were able to correct the decision, which could easily be the goal that keeps West Ham in the division and is relegates Southampton. It should never have taken 3 minutes for the goal to be reinstated, but that’s the VAR officials being slow and meticulous when any armchair fan could see it was a valid goal within about 45 seconds. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
