Fraser Fyvie
Seems like refs are showing more red cards for those kind of challenges. I’m all for it tbh.
Jim McLean's Ghost
I can't believe VAR put up the freeze frame with Trippier in the air and studs on the knee and managed to convince the ref he was wrong
Wee-Bey
A knee high lunge with no attempt to play the ball is surely a red card.
Hammerafc
A knee high lunge with no attempt to play the ball is surely a red card.I think the ref thought he caught him with his studs but was actually more of a trip that saved him.
Have some faith in Magic
Both feet off the ground. Shin height at best. Mental decision.
Mark Connolly
Much like the two yesterday in the Hibs game, it is ridiculous that a challenge like that isn't an automatic red. He's miles from the ball, and just looking to wipe out the opponent.
DrewDon
It looks like a borderline one. I am a bit surprised, given the height of the challenge and how Trippier jumped into it, that VAR recommended a review because I think the original decision could definitely be justified.
yoda
Is Gündoğan actually a little bit underrated? He's probably in the top two or three centre midfielders in the league. He walks into every other team.
Wee-Bey
Anyway, if the Barclays script writers can ensure a Trippier free kick winner then they deserve a raise.

Mark Connolly
Nick Pope has been absolutely outstanding
David W
This has been a brilliant watch but the highlight without a doubt has been hearing the orc heads exploding outside when that red was overturned.
Mark Connolly
Foden has been a greedy b*****d all day, and his corners have been shite

DrewDon
Looks like Eddie Howe is bringing on his younger brother here in another act of footballing nepotism that would make even Steve Bruce blush.

Fratelli
Cracking game that. The so called lesser sides are starting to play more and more football, and as we’ve seen in the opening fortnight - take more points off the bigger sides. Man City will likely still piss it, but they’ll have to scrap for it most weeks.
AMMjag
Getting asked to take my gran to the hospital, but I'm going to have to rewind that right away to watch it again. Can't quite comprehend the quality of what I've watched.
Wee-Bey
Good to see some of the Newcastle lads getting their favourite Man City player's shirts.
accies1874
Great game. Interesting that the last 15 mins or so was the exact situation that people said City bought Haaland for, yet I'm not sure he got a touch in the box and certainly didn't get a chance. Shows that it hasn't made City foolproof in attack as had perhaps been anticipated.
