SFA articles of association 10.7

No club in registered membership shall adopt in whole or in part the name of a club in full membership without the prior written consent of the Board.

They did say in the statement they're waiting for SFA approval. It's just been okay'd by the WoSFL.

Since ICT did start as Caledonian Thistle FC I don't know if they might have any lingering rights kept for things like commerative merch or simply because it is a part of their history.

The fact they’ve done a big reveal before getting SFA approval, which they are far from guaranteed to get, is a gamble to say the least

Ah ok in that case it's probably fair enough.

I was thinking it was another shettleston situation.

Nah, just like with BSC/Broomhill, Syngenta & Harmony Row. There's been a split between the youth club that originated the adult teams. What was Rossvale Juniors is keeping it going like Broomhill as a strange vanity project at this point. As it's not like they have a ground or identity to tap into.

Caledonian FC would have been tolerable. How about St Rollox United if we're being true to the railway?

That was my first thought St.Rollox has long been associated with the area.

There you have it.

St.Rollox Locomotive Works.

Shortened to St.Rollox LM.

Much more imaginative.

St Rollox is for people who couldn't spell properly.
