Ludo*1
Time for the now annual thread. Rank these managers based on how good they were as players. Sorted by alphabetical club order for now: Dick Campbell Lee Bullen Jim McIntyre Gary Bowyer Dougie Imrie John Rankin Billy Dodds Ian McCall Owen Coyle Ian Murray One of the most difficult one's since I started doing this. League is filled with shite this year with only a couple of those being genuinely decent players. Edited June 25, 2022 by Ludo*1
vikingTON
I think you'll find that Sir Douglas' record as a player is incomparable.
Superhursty7
Some folk may call him a journey man pro but not many can claim to be a play off winning captain at Wembley.

RandomGuy.
A lot of respect for @Ludo*1 refusing to contribute to his own thread as it would likely involve Billy Dodds at number one.
Derry Alli
If it was for men who tried to kill other players by stamping on their throats then no doubt, Dougie 'Superdry' Imrie would be the winner.

Dodds won more major honours and he scored as many international goals as those two combined made appearances. Just say no.
Fifespud
In terms of footballing ability, Ian McCall all day long.

Yeah, a vile list to be sure, few ferrety weasels in there as well, looking at Imrie and McIntyre in particular. Thank you.

Thank you. Could have added the DAB c**t Dick Campbell too. Wow, lots of utter c***s this season. 'Cheer up [inset name] oh what can it mean, to a sad Arab b*****d and a shite football team' I have no doubt will be ringing out at pretty much every Dundee game this season.

Had no idea 'Fester' played for them, the rest are a right bunch of 'characters' as well. IMO. C'mon Bowyer, lets trample all over them. Thank you.

Vile enough for me.

Broken Algorithms
We've made a huge jump this season from McGlynn to Murray. Should be looking for a top 4 at least.

Bigmouth Strikes Again
McCall was a great player, remember when the 'incident' happened, was like oh FFS.
TheScarf
Murray better than Dodds, my word.
D'Jaffo
Ian Murray was a bang average player. Genuinely forgot about him as a player until he rocked up as manager of Dumbarton. Dodds is probably the best when you look at what he’s up against and how his career went. In terms of Bullen, I’ve never seen him play but as a striker for Dunfermline I’d imagine he’d be down near the bottom of the list but by all accounts he was a fantastic centre back for Sheffield so I’d say he’s middle of the pack overall.
