The Queen of the South thread

I heard it all last week and all day in the pubs today,Nicky's signed a pre contract with Newco. Can't believe it myself but by all accounts it definitely true.

have also heard this rumour. Good luck to him if he moves on. We survived without Dobbie. If we get Lyle , Reily , Paton signed up then we will be fine. And if rumours are true add in Colin McMenanmin

Nicky has done really well this season amongst part time 2nd div defences 1st div is more physical and a much higher standard whether he is good enough??

It would be really nice to see but if £££ newco comes calling who's going to resist! Heard rumours the last few weeks hibs Aberdeen newco wait and see think the MAIN MAN we need to keep is MAGIC.

Disappointed if Nicky goes there, but they are paying significantly more than he earns now and it is easy to forget that they aren't earning megabucks and for that I can't really hold it against him, It'll be a contract of a lifetime but he'll not be needed after 2 years if he goes to Rangers. He won't be as appreciated for scoring as many if he goes there. Then again they are linked with everyone.

Worth noting that our players are full time but will not be getting paid a lot. You couldn't blame anyone for moving on if offered better terms . The fact that a team like 'the rangers' can offer significantly more after screwing up so many Scottish businesses has a tendency to stick in the throat a bit. By rights , they should be offering less than a team like ourselves do but this aint a perfect world.

That's a view I have a lot of sympathy with though there are plenty of clubs in Scotland who have defaulted on debts to local business.

There is of course an alternative view that "The Rangers" have already had a very significant punishment, no thanks to our own club as it happens. Time to move on in many ways despite our own natural anxiety that a "bigger" club could take some of our better players.
