Hadn't really thought about the scenes side of things until seeing these, and reading of "unrestrained joy, dancing on the pitch"... Peeps, feel free to post many more pics from today, for little old us so far from the action. Can't wait for the youtube highlights. Were there player of the season etc awards at the end? If so, who got what?

I'm getting all emotional.

Congrats!

2 more close to full houses guaranteed next season for both of us? It will be interesting to see what McIntyre and Hughes do in close season?

I'd also like to share my congratulations at this remarkable outcome for a club that had seemingly succumbed in the dead of winter.

Those of us that relish the best of competition in the Highlands are, I'm sure, ever so glad that there will be derbies next season and the siren voices that didn't want Dodds and would have swiftly rejected McIntyre will surely now admit that dear old Uncle Roy has completed a quite remarkable piece of business.

It'll be interesting to see how quickly the squad gets tied down and/or released, I'm hopeful for some news this week. Saturday will give the chance for some goodbyes and to celebrate some re-signings.

There's no denying that the squad is ridiculously large and we'll inevitably see a lot of departures, some I'm sure we'll be sad about. The current roster, plus Brian Graham, totals 30, with seven signed up for next season or beyond. On the assumption that a) Jim 'n' Billy will want to improve the squad with some new signings, and b) 22 is the optimal size for the squad, then there could be up to a dozen from this list leaving:

Mark Brown

Antonio Reguero

---

Darren Barr

Scott Boyd

Cammy Burgess

Marcus Fraser

Ben Frempah

Abdoulaye Meite

Paul Quinn

Jamie Reckord

Steven Saunders

---

Richard Brittain

Terry Dunfield

Jackson Irvine

Filip Kiss

Ruben Palazuelos

Rocco Quinn

Steven Ross

Martin Woods

---

Joe Cardle

Graham Carey

Tony Dingwall

Michael Gardyne

Raffaele De Vita

---

Liam Boyce

Craig Curran

Brian Graham

Kyle Macleod

Jake Jervis

Darvydas Sernas

Edited to add Paul Quinn and remove Steven Saunders.

Here's 14 cuts I think could be made. It might seem a bit harsh on guys like Frempah, Barr, Sernas and Palazeulos who barely got any game time. It looks like Cardle and Saunders have been pretty open about their departures on Twitter, Dunfield has pretty much been gone for months anyway.

I would keep Barr and I think he'll stay if he gets himself fit after the cruciate injury. He can cover across the back four very capably and that would save needing specialist full-backs as back-up. Especially with Stephen Miller coming on so well in the DL team. He's a terrible defensive midfielder though.

Frempah looked like he had tremendous potential before his ankle break, I'd be delighted if he stayed. I've seen enough of Burgess in the DL to see that he'd improve the first team with a regular spot at LCB, but he wasn't needed. I wouldn't blame him for not coming back, the loan from Fulham was a bit of a waste other than making Boyd determined to keep his place.

I think Macleod's place on the first team bench in the last couple of weeks, ahead of Jervis, probably indicates that the latter will be away. County can quite easily operate with the four centre forwards signed up.

I suspect/hope:

Mark Brown
---
Darren Barr
Scott Boyd
Marcus Fraser
Ben Frempah
Paul Quinn
Jamie Reckord
---
Richard Brittain
Jackson Irvine
---
Tony Dingwall
Michael Gardyne
Raffaele De Vita
---
Liam Boyce
Craig Curran
Brian Graham
Kyle Macleod

Edit: I'm not counting Miller as I would still class him as a DL player. Also, I know I'm in a minority here by not being a big fan of Woods, but I suspect he won't be here next year either. You could add Stevie Ross to that list up there, but only ever be seen as a squad player, which I reckon he'd be willing enough to be.

Edited again to remove repeated use of the word "suspect".

Thought relevant given the anticipated cherry-picking of QoS players:

Dundee sign Kevin Holt from QoS on PCA.

Good player, albeit as a LB he'd struggle for time given Reckord is under contract (and was playing well prior to his injury).

You got me excited there that we'd signed Durnan. Holt's the one we've signed.

Oh for fu.... sorry man, meant to say Kevin Holt, Durnan is the one i'd like us to sign (assuming half our defence leaves when their contracts expire). Was a freudian slip! Post amended now.
