Councillor Elaine McSporran, the city council's Firework Safety Champion, said she hoped the fireworks ban would "bring some relief" to Pollokshields residents. The firework control zone (FCZ) will cover Pollokshields - an area that has faced the most serious firework-related anti-social behaviour, according to the council. It will take effect from 1-10 November covering both public and private spaces such as gardens. Anyone setting off a private firework during this period will be committing a criminal offence. Glasgow has also experienced problems as recently as last November, when 20 youths fought and threw fireworks at one another in the Quarrywood Avenue area of Barmulloch. Locals also filmed fireworks being set off on Leven Street, Pollokshields near houses and cars. Thirteen applications for FCZs in Glasgow were reviewed by a panel of experts from emergency services following public consultation on the issue. Four applications related to areas of Pollokshields were received and combined as one entry. The review panel considered all applications with each decision based on crime data and council complaints statistics. "Remember, Remember"... Glasgow fireworks ban delayed after council error - BBC News A fireworks ban planned for part of Glasgow on Bonfire Night this year has been delayed by 12 months until 2025 after the council missed a legal deadline - the zone would be unenforceable until 3 days too late. The Firework Control Zone (FCZ) spanned Pollokshields - an area that has faced the most serious firework-related anti-social behaviour, according to the council. It was meant to take effect from 1 to 10 November covering both public and private spaces, such as gardens. Anyone setting off a private firework during this period would have been committing a criminal offence. However, the council published a legal notice of the control zone too late for the ban to take place over Bonfire Night. The notification had to be issued 60 days before the FCZ was due to come into force. But the council only gave notice on 9 September meaning it would not be in place on 5 November.

Seafield is an odd one, I didn't think anyone in particular lived there, let alone neds. Unless they're scared a stray rocket will ignite the sewage works and it's goodbye North East Edinburgh Seafield is pretty much uninhabited, but unfortunately there is a wee stretch of beach next to the Cat & Dog home that attracts "rave" bawheids, new-agers, and suchlike like flies to shite, and they are usually pretty f**king noisy right through the night, so I'd imagine the cooncil have had enough of the C&D home staff doing their nut about it.
