Wee-Bey
I feel a definitive list of P&B's favourite cinematic masterpieces is long overdue, so here we are. Are you a Marvel fan ? French Arthouse connoisseur? Blockbuster Guy ? Is Beverly Hills Chihuahua II the greatest film of all time ? (Maybe) Christmas is the time for lists, and as I don’t have anything better to do than sit on the couch and drink over the festive period, send me your top 10 favourite films either via DM or post them in this thread for P&B's Barry Normans to critique. 10 points will be awarded for the 1st film on your list down to 1 for the 10th. Voting is open until the 31st and I'll start posting the results with a wee bit on each film from New Year's Day onwards. Open to everyone obviously, the more the merrier and I might even stretch to a top 100 if enough of you get involved. The most interesting part of these threads is seeing which films are of personal importance to different people, as there are always plenty of eyebrow-raisers. f**k knows why The Thing is so important to me, but I suspect it's probably something to do with latent homosexuality.
coprolite
1- 2001: a space odyssey 2- South Park: bigger, longer and uncut 3- Naked 4- Goodfellas 5- The Silence of the Lambs 6- Legend of Fong Sai Yuk/ The Legend 7-Full Metal Jacket 8- Ip Man 9- Naked Lunch 10- Brain Dead (The Peter Jackson one) Not necessarily "best" films but ones that i could watch repeatedly most. There's a pretty strong bench that could easily have made the cut: a couple of Scorcese's, a couple of Danny Boyle's and assorted comedies and "family" films. @Slim Charles., what's the cut off date for edits here?

BFTD
1 hour ago, supermik said: Wot! No Usual Suspects from any of the Usual Suspects on here? The Usual Suspects seems to have been re-evaluated in recent years. Folk who don't like it claim it's garbage because it gives the illusion of being a smart thriller with a clever twist ending, but hate it because there are basically no hints about the twist before it lands, and in retrospect it basically amounts to Spoiler a bunch of people turning up dead on a boat, with an unknown survivor reeling off an entirely manufactured story, before being released right before the interrogator realises that not a word of it was true. We don't even know who Pete Postlethwaite and Kevin Spacey are playing in the final shots. Personally, I've no problem with that; it's a thoroughly enjoyable film due to the way it's told, rather than because of the story, which is a bit meta. It's better than Sex and the City 2, so I'll add it to the bottom of my list for now. Also, Bryan Singer and Kevin Spacey have repeatedly been accused of sex crimes over the past fifteen years or more, along with generally being unpleasant douchebags, so that may well have had an effect on the film's legacy.
