I loved the background to name of the OGWS programme once I found out why it was called that. When it first came to my attention as a very young lad I thought it was just a late night edition of the sheepdog trials for auld dugs that the BBC used to broadcast. I was later to find it produced some outstanding musicians. Great TV. Edited January 12, 2023 by Molotov

Theroadlesstravelled
A scud book. In my day finding a porn mag lying in the street was a memorable day. Nowadays with the internet, kids have instant access to a lode of the most fucked up, nastiest porn imaginable.

There were two switches - one was an on/off switch and the other was a stand by switch - which you pulled out. If you were starting from scratch you put the on/off switch to on. Then you had to wait for the TV to warm up and a red light would go on to show it was ready. Only then could you start watching programmes It blew up in 1986 and the more modern TV (made in Haddington) that replaced it didn't need to warm up Are you sure you hadn't bought an oven by mistake?

Once video shops and the internet came along they had to switch to other films or close down. You would think that would be the end of the matter but no. I recall one woman who refused to go see a perfectly ordinary film at the Cameo in Edinburgh because it used to be a cinema like that. Now that I think about it, the cinema name was probably a clue.

The folk here who work on rigs deny it, but I have it on good authority that there is a porn cinema on every oil rig. These guys spend most of their off hours in there watching 70s bongo movies.
