🔵 🔴 Inverness CT v The Gl£$ga Gr€tna 🕷🕷

Recommended Posts

Being postponed for weather will hurt both sets of fans as it'll end up scheduled to a shitty mid-week timeslot.

Worst case maybe the QP board could just pay for us to fire up the undersoil heating we have from previous big time status.

The USH was removed when we improved the drainage, best they can do is get covers down.

A lot of snow up in Inverness just now and temperatures look pretty low until Saturday. This game must be at risk shirley?

Morton game v us at Cappielow was postponed at the last freeze even though it was thawing on Saturday but like this week minus 6 every night.

Stenny’s okay though if you want to pop down.

Have we moved away from the sea? We rarely needed USH if ever and I'm struggling to remember a postponement for a frozen pitch before that was installed.

Postponements tended to come from travelling conditions. Wasn't there one for flooding from underneath the pitch?

We also had one of the best pitches if not the best in the Scottish Leagues before that was installed.

It will be game on.

Some years back as a requirement for SPL entry we had to have a 6000 seat stadium and Under Soil Heating, the USH  regulation was relaxed about 10 years ago and pitch covers were found to be sufficient.

I'm not sure if we got a grant for the installation of USH, as for the 6000 seats that of course was down to David Sutherland whose company erected the North and South stands in record time so that we didn't play at Pitoddrie for too long, Stewart Milne btw charged us £30,000 per game for use of the Dandies stadium, fuckin greedy thief.

We did have drainage problems which led to game postponements, I refer you to the Pcare site and the Article "Inverness Caledonian Thistle football club in deep water" which explains in depth the drainage problems and more especially how the pitch was wrongly constructed initially, interesting reading.

Queen's Park will be massive favourites for this having won this trophy 10 times. 0-8 Spooders

An outstanding record achieved three centuries back against massive teams such as Renton, Clydesdale, Vale of Leven, Thornliebank and Third Lanark etc.

Achieved playing with shorts down to their ankles, bunnets, tackety boots, and beards down to their navels.

Those were the days when sheep shagging was an acceptable form of social life and men ran amock at the sight of a womans ankle.
