Auchinleck v East Kilbride South cup

And rightly so as they fielded an ineligible player.

What would your opinion be if East Kilbride had done the same thing?

I'm quite sure you would be calling for them to be kicked out.

No, paperwork aside should always be a last resort over turning a result never mind removing someone from a cup.

But if you break the rules you deserve to be booted out.

You can complain about it all day but Talbot made an arse of it and deserve to be thrown out.

Seems on here some "Auchinleck supporters " are happier to see them excluded from the competition rather than looking at the people who do administration for Auchinleck and trust what they do and have done for years.

and what about the actual player as well btw, surely every man and their dug knows ye can't play in the same cup competition for 2 separate teams, could he not have said he'd already played in it?

Thank christ a bit of commonsense.

The opinion was given directly after the match that players themselves aren't always clued up when it comes to these sort of things.

The cold, hard fact is that a cup tied player has been played and therefore Talbot have been eliminated and it should stay that way. However, after reading the statement form Talbot it does seem that they have been landed in it by the "Competition Organisers" who have given wrong information. It's not just a case of Talbot making an arse of it as Hertha is enjoying saying. They did what they thought was right and have been shafted by someone else's (who?) incompetence. They're the ones who have messed up and, honestly, should be reprimanded at least.

Anyway, it clears the fixture pandemonium a wee bit and gives Talbot a better chance of getting to a play-off to be at least one less light year away from League 2.

The only incompetence is Talbots.

Disagree. Your determination to pick fault with your own club is blinding you. If things went the way the statement reads then they are not solely to blame but seem to be the only ones being punished. FWIW it's correct they've been put out the cup and they shouldn't waste time appealing but the official who gave the wrong information should be taken to task on it. Maybe they have.

Talbot probably won't have a game on 1st April.

Statement says the process has been followed, it came back he could play from the competition Secretary, not sure who else you can officially check with? Seems like they managed to get the other three players right in the exact same process so makes you wonder…

The statement saying so doesn't change that I don't know the process. Makes you wonder what exactly? And please don't reply with words to the effect of "it was done on purpose, folk wanted Talbot out" cos that would be ridiculous.

Brilliant but no chance of a name because he would get his keyboard confiscated.
