Frank McAveety had to apologise for lying to Parliament saying he missed a meeting due to urgent ministerial business when he’d actually been eating pie, chips and beans. He later had to resign as a committee chairman after a hot mic caught him commenting on a female member of the public’s appearance - “There's a very attractive girl in the second row, dark... and dusky. We'll maybe put a wee word out for her.”

The fact that the member of the public being compared to a Gaugain painting was a 15yo schoolgirl was surely more the issue there?

William "Billy" Wolfe's denouncing the pope's visit to Scotland.

He used to be the leader of the SNP!

It's hard to imagine someone with such intolerant religious views being elected to that position nowadays.

Another of their leaders (Andrew Dewar Gibb) is quoted saying at a meeting  "made no secret of my distinct fascist leanings".

Granny Danger was probably at the meeting so can confirm if true.
