• On 18th March, the Govanhill Gretna outfit known as 'Queens' Park' had 54 points and a seven point lead over their nearest title rivals - with seven games to play.

• They finished the league season on 58 points and in 3rd place.

• They have contrived to lose 7 of their last 9 games of the season: conceding 21 goals (and counting) in the process.

Edit: final count 22 goals.

• Owen Coyle is reputedly on £5,000 per week to oversee this sublime display of managerial inertia and incompetence.

The biggest fraud in Scottish football: discuss.

Despite the sweetie man pumping in millions Morten finished nearer the seaside leagues than the premier most seasons he was there. That’s more fraudulent in my opinion.
Plus Morten invented administration for football clubs.

David Hopkin wins this award.

David Hopkin 'won' a play-off to the top flight with a squad on probably one-quarter of the wages of this bunch of utter mercenaries. Coyle wins that Top Trumps clash handily.

Im inclined - if its purely as a manager, and historically - that Ally McCoist was the biggest, highest profile failure ever; he got hand picked to succeed Walter Smith and failed so spectacularly it killed off his coaching career in a salt-the-ground-and-burn-it-all fashion. Also sure there was something about him making a big public spectacle about taking a pay cut to help the club he loved and it turned out he'd just deferred what he was owed (tbf contractually, but im sure the public press releases were misleading and implied he'd waived the money, but i may be misremembering)

Did he not also buy a stack of Newco shares for peanuts?

What he did it with a mere £200,000 playing budget? Good on him then. Especially as Dundee paid £1,400,000 for promotion this season.

Sorry, overegged it. Just under £1.3M. Williamson alone on 3.5K a week.

I'd be surprised if any of these sites are accurate but fair enough. Williamson is on loan and I doubt Dundee are paying him (or anyone bar maybe Nelms) 3.5k a week. I do accept we've probably got the largest budget in the league and have struggled to make it count as per usual.
