I never really got to the bottom of it. They just sent me a £12k bill. I phoned them and they apologised, and sent me a new bill for, I think, £1100 or so. A few more phone calls and finally they realised that I wasn't their customer. Sent me a bill for £0. I said that was fine but wanted completely off their system. The insurance company should be forced to prove why a previous flood would have any influence on whether a house could burn down.
