IMHO I do not remember us being outclassed against our Euro 2020 opponents  , or Ukraine , the way we were Friday night.

In fact was the problem in at least one of the games that we played two up front as many supporters wanted ?

Once these Euros are over we need to get a ( central ) defense that can cope with the best European teams

Maybe I am creating my own memories to suit,  Yes there was a clamour for 2 strikers against Czechs and it clearly didnt work, though  I thought there was a sense of dissappointment, in that match in Ukraine match and others that we were not outplayed by better team but we just didnt compete like we could  (see N Ireland, Gib., Rep Ireland)

Conceding here that he may have given them too much information

No, It can't be that because Clarke got it wrong tactically. Didn't he? Definitely couldn't have been the players not performing to the required levels.

Yes because he would just come out and admit that

Why wouldn't he? It's not a crime to make mistakes and he's done that in the past and even here to some extent by accepting he might have overloaded the players with information. Honestly don't understand what planet some people live on.

This isn't going to work either. So let's say hypothetically it was the players fault.

Who is in charge of those players and responsible for them knowing what their doing?

You've been out for Clarke's blood ever since Euro-2020. The manager carries the can, that's how it is whether I agree with that or not. If you want to pin  blame on him as you've been trying for years to do then knock yourself out. It's a collective thing in my view.

Why is there a need to pin blame and extract a pound of flesh exactly?

It was a strange press conference.

Clarke came out and he said that what he said clouded the players minds.

Steve Clarke had a clear fortnight to drum the tactics into the players heads.

So, it's a case of the players not being intelligent enough to take it on board or Steve Clarke just can't convey instructions properly.

Steve Clarke set out a good system vs the Dutch and played well. For some reason he thought using 5-4-1 as we did against Spain away was the way to go.

Some people said that Steve Clarke isn't good enough at this level. He has two matches to prove his detractors wrong.

It was clearly both manager and players

The players were insipid, 0 out of 10s in there

The manager just stood and watched the horror show

They all owe the biggest reaction of all time

what have both jack and ralston done to deserve being there

Earned the managers trust in and around the squad and when they've been given minutes on the pitch. Same as all the other players in the squad.

tbf there's nowhere else to emigrate to.

Narrow parochial thinking IMO.

This is why Scots will never colonise the moon.

Cmon numbers, Clarke was very much tactically outsmarted by the Germany manager, still baffled why you can't see that. The players were shocking also regardless and there was obviously a quality disadvantage. It's not the fault of any one person, we didn't get it right on the day and was a horror show but we know this team can get big results and turn things around.
