Pro Zionist funders making sure that anyone even slightly critical of Israel is deselected.

$8.5M AIPAC spent against her. Other funders for her opponent were Trump supporting billionaires then also Reid Hoffman, unsurprisingly.

The guy Wesley Bell doesn’t seem to have much integrity.  I’m sure he’ll fit right into the Washington scene.

According to the President at the time, its was down to him (the President) to save the day by sending in the National Guard.

And there you have it, Trump being the pompous twat by declaring he has the riots under control not the Governor, and he will lie stating that Walz dithered for 3 days and that he Trump took the reins, it's ideal Trump spin.

Here's the rub with Walz, his 24 year military service was initially in the Nebraska National Guard and then the Minnesota National Guard, the same National Guard that Trump says he mobilised.

You can see the spin coming.

The big rub is Trump don’t control the National Guard, the Governor does. The only National Guard the President controls is the D.C. National Guard…which also neatly undermines his “Nancy didn’t” line. The President can call up the Guard in a small series of situations, mainly focused on calling up Guard units from outside a State to help the State government.

I doubt Trump will want to say much about calling out the national guard given he refused pleas to do while rioters were threatening to hang his VP.

It’s even more funny because that’s the only Guard unit he can actually control without a number of hoops to jump through.

Trump was obviously unique in 2016 having that nationwide name recognition, outsider anti political establishment feel and a level of charisma. Both DeSantis and now Vance have been identified as the potential heir apparent and both have absolutely melted after coming into the wider public view, as they're  unpleasant goons who only appeal to a minority of terminally online oddballs.

The worry has always been that a smarter, more aware, less openly polarising version of Trump appears, although you would expect the men in grey suits faction of the Republicans to mount a counter coup to regain control of the party again.

I agree.  Trump was seen as an outsider who would shake up the system whereas Hillary Clinton was the very definition of an insider.  There was also the idea that Hillary would have just been the Bill and Hillary Clinton presidency Mark 2 and a sneaky way to get around term limits.

Some Trump voters would also have considered Bernie Sanders as somebody else who would have made big changes but that was never on offer.

Incredible that Sanders was seen as a dangerous radical while Trump caused an insurrection after he lost and yet he gets to try again.

Harris easing into a lead in the national polls and neck-and-neck with Trump in the swing states, all within a margin of error of course.  If Biden hadn’t dropped out it would all have been over by now.

It looks like the momentum is with the Dems and Trump struggling to counteract this.  He’s also in a corner in terms of debating Harris, he’ll come off scone best if he does imo and will look like a coward if he doesn’t.

Walz looks like someone has asked AI to generate an Australian Prime Minister based on what the last 4 or 5 looked like.

Another way that Harris will continue to irritate Trump is by hold big raucous rallies like the one in Philadelphia.  That was always Trump’s thing and he gets lot of coverage because it is deemed to be ‘good TV’.  Biden’s rallies were turgid affairs but I think for the rest of the campaign we will see more Harris-Walz ones with the energy of Philly and they’ll reduce the headlines that the orange sex gets.

Point getting made on MSNBC that Trump presser today hoovered up the live coverage including on their network while the Harris speech soon after was not.

Same shit that happened in 2016, his shear crackpottery is box office that they cannot resist.

Not sure about the debates tbh. Trump isn't exactly an articulate communicator but Harris is a terrible talker too when it's not scripted. She was absolutely rinsed in the 2020 primary debates.

That being said, Trump isn't a details guy so rather than attack any legitimate points about her past record he's more likely to go off on insane ramblings about communism and her not really being black.

The agreed format, stationary at podiums, mics under control, and without an audience will deny Trump his preferred tactics of 2016, looming behind Harris and butting in.

Harris will be drilled on a few simple and factual summations, as would be used at a trial, and given a series of comments that will bait Trump to diverge from responses to questions and launch into his rambling attacks. This/these debates could be absolute comedy gold.

It's been a long time since they've bothered putting Trump's lies in headlines, it's hard to find space for them all. Maybe his teflon mojo is finally evaporating.
