Miscellaneous football nostalgia pictures

As much as the modern day English Premier league is dull as dishwater, I love the first few years where you got a mixture of old school footballers and classy foreign imports. Here are two that I loved back then, both absolutely brilliant but couldn't be different

The sadly departed Pavel Srnicek in the background.

Phillipe Albert's goal when they pumped Man Utd 5-0 is still one of my favourite goals of all time

Zbigniew Boniek, the legendary Polish striker,  evades USSR defender Sergei Baltacha during their clash in Barcelona in the 1982 World Cup.

I think Boniek scored a hat trick here in Poland's 3-0 win, earning him move to Juventus not long after, I'm sure many will recall Baltacha having a spell with St Johnstone at the end of his career.

I had no idea Cruyff had played for Feyenoord. Now reading all about it.

Ajax didn't offer him a new contract so he immediately fucked off to one of their biggest rivals and helped them win the double

His first game back in Amsterdam Ajax beat feijenoord 8-2

I have had a few notifications on my reply to the post on cruyff unfortunately for some reason I can’t actually see what people have written so apologies if anyone has asked me anything and I haven’t replied.

Notifications are often just a way of showing appreciation or not. In your case all positive feedback with no follow up questions or response!
