Pars P-P Spiders New Date TBC

Recommended Posts

Pitch inspection sounds fair, announced in loads of time, get someone local in who I think will fail it if it’s a certain to be off but if its 90% there give the opportunity for the match ref to assess it upon arrival and a fail then still stops fans within the central belt needing to travel.

Does the pitch drain well in normal circumstances.

Drainage isn't normally the issue, however there's a patch in front of the main stand that doesn't get any sun that's really prone to freezing.

The drama is that was also the area that was waterlogged just before the freezing weather. Hopefully the warmer weather has been enough to thaw it but the grass around here is still pretty hard tbh.

Cheers, thanks.

Really don't see this going ahead tbh. Unsure if that is a good thing or not. On the one hand it is more time for players to come back, but then it could end up causing a fixture pile up.

As it stands do we just have the Airdrie game to be rearranged? I looked on the website today but the game postponed from December was removed. I know it’s rescheduled for tomorrow but I actually forgot how many call offs we’ve had. If it’s just two home games that won’t be too bad. I want tomorrow to go ahead but won’t be fuming if it doesn’t, quite enjoy a midweek game.

With regards to injuries, the boys have had a fortnight off now to recover and Otoo, McCann and Fisher should all be available according to Dave McKay, plus the inclusion of Fagan-Walcott. In that sense I think we’ll fair better against the eight legged mob than we did a fortnight ago.

Hopefully Otto and Fisher are fit and means Allan can be dropped. Allan brings absolutely nothing to the team. If we have Otto in the middle with Chalmers, we actually might get a foothold on there for a change.

Just had a march around my back garden, not much sunlight all day and the ground was certainly softening and a bit squishy in some areas. Wee bit rain would do great now, was spitting there.

Mad would fitba makes you do, that would otherwise be seen as a cause for concern. “Just away oot the back to feel the softness of the ground. Won’t be a minute!”

Aye I think it wouldn’t have looked too bad if I wasn’t wearing full kit, boots and shinnies!

Disgraceful lack of authenticity.

Next youll be saying you weren't wearing an SFA rain coat when carrying out this inspection of your garden!

My wife was holding the clip board and threw one of the dogs balls up to see if it bounced. Some sort of weird role play 🤣

It’s been raining steadily since I got up at 5.30 If the pitch has thawed with this rain on top of it, then there’s a chance it could be water logged. I’ll be scunnered if the game is called off again

Can't see waterlogging being an issue.

The main stand side of the pitch will be the biggest threat to the game. I think it will be on. Not been below freezing for over a day and temperatures have been up since yesterday lunch time.

It’s certainly not even heavy enough for a waterlogged pitch but could be enough to soften the ground that wee bit more. Still two hours until the pitch inspection, in that time the rain is meant to reduce a bit.

My garden has reacted well to the milder weather. If the game was being played here then it would be on, all I’m saying… 🤣

Be very interesting what is said if it is off. It’s not been wet enough for a waterlogged pitch, and we don’t have a burst pipe contributing to a waterlogged area of the pitch like last week. It’s also now been above freezing for 24hr+ with some rain.
