Wee-Bey
3rd place, almost 20% of the vote. More than double the Tory vote.

CarrbridgeSaintee
That’s an impressive result for Reform, even taking the low turnout into account. Hard to say how it’ll end up for them not just in Scotland, but the rest of the country. They’ll eventually force the Tories to make a sharp turn right in England and Wales, but in Scotland you have a different dynamic, with a less populist electorate. Can see their rise causing rifts between the Scottish and English Tories too. For ‘the right’ to succeed up here, you’d need something new that appeals to both Tory and Reform voters IMO.

Yeah turnout is dogshit, but the result still follows the trend of them establishing themselves up here, despite not really making any sort of real push. As it currently stands they look likely to pick up a few seats at Holyrood in 2026.

I suspect that given the location there could have been a substantial Britnat/Bigot/Bonehead element in the Reform vote.

The fascist parties always do well with a low turnout - their small band of bigots are always motivated to vote. Look at UKIP/Brexit/REFUK's "sensational" European Parliament results, where the headline was that they were the biggest party, but nobody reported that less than 10% of eligible voters cast a vote for them. The best result for them is always that people stay at home. Bit of a shocking result that only 20% of the population bothered to vote, and they could only muster 18% of that vanishingly small turnout. Going to have to work extra hard to whip up enough hate over the next five years for their right-wing alliance to disenfranchise the rest of us.
Leith Green
Nigel Farage doing exactly as expected - not holding constituency surgeries and ignoring constituents. I have no sympathy with the zoomers who voted for him in Clacton. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2024/sep/20/clacton-nigel-farage-first-months-as-mp-reform
Salvo Montalbano
He claimed on LBC that he couldn't for security reasons and that the Speaker and Security Team in Parliament had advised against it. Of course they deny this. Who to believe?

I guess you would side with Hoyle on this one as there is no angle in this to progress has own or Labour's agenda. Oh and because if Farage says something then it is either racist, xenophobic and/or a lie.
