Things that wouldn't happen if it were a men's game: loss of signal for 10 minutes.

It happens to men's game all the time, storms don't discriminate on what type of broadcasts they interrupt. It famously happened in the Euro 2008 semi-final between Germany and Turkey, but there was also a Hearts European game a couple of seasons ago where it cut out and I think missed a goal for the opponents.

This isn't a rare occurrence in women's football though. Happens regularly during broadcasts from abroad. BBC broadcast this for a while in the middle of The Philippines game in February:

Looking very much like a draw on Tuesday will be enough to win the group. For all the justified criticism of the manager, if we do get that result I think we've handled this campaign fairly well, even accounting for how absolutely dreadful Slovakia and Israel have been. However, much bigger challenges await, and I remain wholly unconvinced by him.

Gemma Faye does talk a fair amount of sense but she really should play the role of co-commentator and learn to shut up at times...she just goes on and on....less is more Gemma

I've thought she's been pretty good on co-comms.

Would agree with that. Even accounting for weak opposition we've been much better in recent matches and actually look like a team who know what they're trying to do, in stark contrast to what happened previously under Pedro. Whether or not we can maintain that against better teams time will tell but I wouldn't be wholly convinced either. Even tonight we didn't look great at the back on the few occasions Slovakia got into dangerous positions.

Felt for the team back in the studio tonight with all the breaks, pretty tough gig. The star of the show overall was Gemma Fay with very good and frank analysis throughout, equally happy to call out ex teammates in the same way she (rightfully) highlighted terrible refereeing decisions.

Phew, weird night, weird game, but did the business at the end of the day, Brian.

Gemma and the commentator seemed convinced that playing against the top teams was where we want to be. Under Pedro, I'm not sure about that...

Still, all the best to your lads on Sunday, Pedro.

Watching the BBC Scotland Seven news after the game; "Well to sport now, let's start with the football..." and did they cover the Scotland game first? No, a long piece of Spain v England, followed by Duk not reporting for training at Aberdeen, then the Wimbledon men's singles semi-finals, then the Scottish Open golf.

They didn't mention the Scotland game they'd just broadcast live at all.

BBC Scotland also broadcast this during a Rangers European tie.

Loving your cutaway shot collections 👍

Totally forgot this game was taking place, but that's a great result.

How is the seeding for the second round done, doesn't seem to be very clear on Wikipedia.

Presume it's the seven highest ranked sides remaining?

UEFA's regulations say

Quote
  • The winners of the round 1 path 1 ties involving the seven highest-ranked teams according to the European Qualifiers overall league rankings (see Paragraph 24.03) will be seeded for the round 2 draw and will play against the seven remaining teams. The seeded teams will play the second leg match at home.

which presumably means the seeded team for the second round will be the 7 winners of the league A v league C playoffs.

The League A v League C play-offs will have 8 sides from each league (bottom 2 in each of the 4 groups in League A v top of each of the 5 groups in League C plus 3 best runners-up). So there will be 8 winners, not 7. In Round 2 those 8 teams join 6 from the League B play-offs, so one of them will be unseeded and the other 7 seeded.

The 7 Round 2 winners join the top 8 from League A and hosts Switzerland to make 16 teams.
