Followed by the 6 weeks in England.

Oh I'm sure Gove or some other wee gimp will appear at some point in a Shortie factory in Troon or some bloody thing, but it'll be a literal flying visit, the room will be packed with local Tory activists, and there won't be anything remotely resembling a non-scripted question put to him. But it'll be some dreary afternoon a week before the election date.

Would be some laugh if Starmer decided to go walkabout in Glasgow with Eddie Izzard or something.

Quite the opposite, you’ll see Starmer in Scotland all the time given that the red wall is already in the bag and Scotland is one of the most likely routes for him to turn a hung Parliament or small outright win into a landslide whomping majority.

In fact, if you don’t see Starmer in Scotland regularly over the coming weeks I’d suggest that it’s because Labour’s focus groups are telling them that he puts Scottish voters off and that they’re better served leaving the Scottish campaign to Sarwar and his team.

Radio 5 Live having 2 gaffes in 2 days.

"Sir John Swinney" and "Anas Sanwar"

Could've been worse.

What was 7? Six was the Titanic one

I count:

1. The announcement in the rain.

2. Sky News reporter being kicked out of the excel centre

3. The Welsh football gaffe

4. Tory plant councillors asking questions at an event

5. Sunak refusing to pay the charity bet

6. The “sinking ship” thing

7. Martyn’s Law

8. Exit sign on the plane

Rishi Sunak will retreat from the campaign trail on Saturday, spending the day at home in his constituency and in London after a difficult first few days of the general election campaign.

Who else spends a relaxing day off 'at home' in two different places 200 miles apart. 🤡

It's actually still, still quite incredible to watch just how incompetent the past 72 hours has been from Sunak. He used to have the reputation - in relative terms - of being a moderately competent arsehole, but this has been a total clown running across a minefield display.

I had to check that out, and to give it some context, the distance is the same as Falkirk is from Dublin.

I’m not sure what’s worse, the fact that they’re almost certainly lying about this “definitely not a reset” day and are in fact resetting the campaign already, or the alternative which is they’ve gone ahead and called the election without even a hint of a valid plan on how they’re going to turn the polls around.

Keir Starmer is going to absolutely cruise into number 10.

Is there any doubt whatsoever that this is precisely what happened?

Pretty obvious the number of letters gunning for the clueless wee gimp hitting Brady's desk were about to reach a critical mass, so he's gone ahead and called a "f**k the lot of you then" General Election that he probably hadn't given the blindest bit of thought to while eating his breakfast.

Does anyone know exactly when he met Charlie, or indeed, if he actually has to request permission in person, or whether that can be done over the phone?

Were Monarch/PM gossip sessions no traditionally a Wednesday afternoon at one point?

What evidence is there to support this?

The more plausible argument I've seen is that the original plan of unrolling freebies in the autumn statement was scuppered (partly by the IMF report early Wednesday), which would have then turned the autumn Tory party conference from a desperate election rally into an open struggle for the post-election leadership weeks before Sunak actually went to the polls. So while rivals maneuvering for position is a plausible explanation, Sunak jumping before he was pushed right now is not one that makes sense.

Well nothing apart from several journos reporting on Wednesday morning that this is what their "sources" were telling them.

Anyway. Latest is Jess Phillips speculating that tomorrow's "haitus" is, in fact, to prepare for the announcement that he's throwing the towel in.

That might explain the pictures with 'Exit' in the background and the like.
