Major election gaffes 2024

The Jedi reincarnation is showing some utter desperate attention seeking here. He seems to think a GE revolves around the SNP who appear to be living rent free in what's left of his brain for some bizarre reason.

A lot of Scottish Labour have been mentally broken by losing support to the SNP, and can't think beyond getting "revenge". The older ones still hate them for supporting the vote of no confidence in 1979 (because things were just going so well). Some were delighted that the SNP lost seats to the Tories in 2017, which certainly says...something.

So you get this weird situation where, in an election about Labour hopefully replacing a Conservative Party that's drifting ever towards fascism, some Scottish Labour people are still only interested in talking about the SNP. It probably doesn't help that, having switched positions on virtually everything over the past few years, the head office are going to be elected with a set of aims that have been written as vaguely as possible.

And the branch office leader family business still isn't paying the living wage 😉

Greg Hands tries to campaign in a WhatsApp group of parents from his children’s private school. Labour voting parents clap back and leak it to the media.

The Professor is all over the place.

On the one hand claiming the SNP are going down the UDI route, on the other, claiming they are selling out independence.

It's desperate stuff.

They seem to be desperately trying to imply that he's said something on Twitter and has been pulled for it, without actually explicitly saying so.

Either that or journalism at the Record amounts to "let's look on Twitter - shit, there's nothing there, what do we do now?"

Is it a gaffe if he's stepped down for health reasons? Without seeing a cached version of his twitter it's hard to say.

The twitter that's disappeared is the campaign account - if he's no longer the candidate then it being removed is a fairly natural thing to happen.

The headline is deliberately misleading to make it look like his personal account has been deleted.

It's the usual shite you'd expect from the less than balanced Record.

When he says local resident does he mean the guy at the next desk in the record offices. Sure he was having a quiet chuckle to himself when he tried to pull of this great charade.  One local resident said: “It’s a complete mystery locally why the SNP have changed candidates and to do it this late on is really odd."

To be fair the SNP are losing that seat anyway. They’ve elected two SNP MPs in the last three elections. The sitting MP defected to Alba and the other one is standing again in this election, for Alba.

Its not a happy hunting ground for the SNP right now and Swinney has probably already privately waved the white flag on that particular seat.
