I know people who have had dealings with Macdonald as a Cllr and apparently he is a complete thicko. My choice as well. Straight fight between Hendry and the Lib Dem. Have to hope Hendry will gather enough votes in the Inverness area to negate the surefire Lib Dem rural votes in Lochaber, Skye and Wester Ross.

I seem to remember Hendry was the MP for Inverness and other parts of the highlands possibly including Nairn, whereas Ian Blackford (and previously Charlie Kennedy) was the MP for Skye and places like Fort William.

Jeezo...what a selection Toni Giugliano a man who in the midst of an snp popularity peak was catapulted into be the candidate who stood against Jackie Baillie, a candidate so catastrophically bad she shut her local a&e and then campaigned against cuts as soon as she got out of power and still got punted. This guy is a perma loser with a massive hit for himself but is an example of the political classes promoting from within and continually putting forward parachute candidates that the party is looking to reward for their loyalty. I hope he gets embarrassed again.

Aye. Inverness has been tacked ok to Wester Ross, Lochaber and Skye with Badenoch, Strathspey and Nairn joining the west of Moray (including Elgin and Lossiemouth) in a new constituency. Moray split in two with the East joining the old Banff and Buchan in a surefire Tory win. Puts Hendry at huge risk due to the Lib Dem vote but it also gives a reasonable chance of a Tory loss of the western part of Douglas Ross's constituency.

Tories have 3 seats in the North of Scotland just now: Banff & Buchan, Aberdeenshire West & Kincardine, and Moray. Looks like Moray East as you say is getting merged with part of the B&B seat so the Tories will be favourites there. The other part of B&B is merging with Gordon which was Tory in 2017 and they only lost by 800 votes last time so they’ll fancy their chances in that seat too although it depends on how popular Richard Thomson is locally. I’m not a fan of these boundary changes. Scotland has lost 2 MPs which isn’t the end of the world but Wales have lost 20% of their seats. It just reeks of Tory gerrymandering.

Aberdeen North is my old stomping ground, I'd say Gordon has a strong chance of going Tory with part of the previous B&B incarnation being added to it. Shame but not surprising.

The other part has merged with part of the old Angus constituency to form “Arbroath and Broughty Ferry”. Derry Pele
Too many candidates in the Dumfries and Galloway constituency to fit in one screenshot, but the ones for the big three are: John Cooper, CON: journo who was previously a media relations advisor to outgoing constituency MP and current Scottish Secretary Alister Jack Tracey Little, SNP: former Lord Provost of Dumfries and been a councillor since 2017 James Wallace, LAB: not a clue, but he’s Dumfries born and bred Current prediction is 29.8% LAB, 29.4% CON, 26.1% SNP
