Swinney has already got his in..'this election doesn't really matter as we have a mandate from 2021 so let's get on with that Referendum'

Other than that...

The weather

Folk being put off politics by the result in the French election

The Euros

The fact that too many folk couldn't find ID

The Glasgow Fair is coming up

I think you forgot folk returning to Labour in the futile hope that a formerly left-of-centre political party which for decades took Scots for granted can somehow improve their lives having since lurched dismally to the right.

Plus ca change, plus ce la meme chose.

Tories to blame the loss on not being right wing enough

Daily mail opinion piece

Quote

Here lies the greatest paradox of this most peculiar election. Centre-Right voters are so furious at the Tories for moving to the Left, that they plan to punish the party by helping to elect a socialist as prime minister.

When I was a kid, a mate of mine used to deliver the Alloa & Hilfoots Shopper, a free newspaper. He was paid 2p per paper which, when all added up, made for some decent pocket money.

One day, we were playing in the woods near his house and he showed me "the pile". Weeks and weeks worth of Shoppers he had just dumped. It lasted about 6 weeks before his boss went round some doors randomly asking folk if they had received their weekly paper. He was sacked, at the age of about 10.

Two things to note here. He is now a successful business man. And this made me not trust postal voting. I imagine piles of ballot papers sitting in the woods somewhere.

As pithy yarns go that was neither pithy or a yarn.
