Gordon EF
It's a fairly open goal for Burnham to be fair, in terms of 'looking good'.

pandarilla
Burnham is sleekit as f**k, but I also think he is an underrated politician. His transformation from Blairite loyalist to darling of the Twitter Left has been rather impressive. Burnham wouldn't be getting half the praise if it wasn't for the fact that Starmer is an absolute ham salad of a man. There's no doubt the way things have played out have helped him.Corbyn completely gazumped him when he was running for the leadership position, as he was probably favourite for the centre left support in that race. Since then, he's taken up a very good post, as he'll get a lot of local support, and things like this crisis give him the opportunity to look like a leader on the national stage.Add in the horribly robotic centre right starmer and it's came together nicely. He'll be in a great position to pick up if starmer fails.Playing the long game well.
NotThePars
"darling of the Twitter left" is a bit much. Half them will be back to calling him a slug or a melt in a fortnight when he duly abstains on the next psycho Tory bill that Starmer refuses to take a position on.

Blootoon87
I wonder what odds you'd get on Marcus Rashford becoming PM.

Well if Dross can run the line and kid on he's in charge of the Scottish Tories then why not? Rashford has a longer list of political achievements too.

Yeah, I think Burnham is a decent political operator (with the exception of his witless leadership campaigns) and it's absolutely obvious that he still wants to be Labour leader. I think people online are kidding themselves if they think a Burnham-led Labour Party would be significantly to the left of what Starmer is offering, though.
G51
Didn't Burnham abstain on the Welfare Bill in 2015, which was the biggest political open goal of all time? Appreciate that he's standing up for his part of the world which is good, but lets not forget what he is.

Detournement
Keith knocking down an Uber eats delivery cyclist while driving his 4x4 in central London then not waiting for the ambulance because he was late for an appointment with his tailor is depressingly perfect.
