Of course Gartcairn making a move like this is surely not related to the vested interests of McDowall at al in the slightest no siree. While it's true that he was meant to stand down to take up the SJFA post. I believe it was said in order to be on the WoSFL committee he has to be affiliated to a member club.

Dav nan Gael
Lanark v Whitburn today. Due to the proximity of Lanark,(16 miles to the south west),expecting a good following down the A706 for today's SCC 1st round tie. Something a bit different, with a new ground to visit, few beers on the High Street beforehand too. Get past Lanark then a big clash away to West Premier Cumnock awaits..........

Dav nan Gael
Disappointed to say the least, 1 nil up and cruising then we commit suicide with the 1st . The 2nd Lanark goal right after half time wasn't much better and we're suddenly chasing the game. Finished 3-2 to the Yowes, couldn't complain tbh.

Whitburn took the lead through a penalty on 18 mins and we equalised on 30 mins. Lanark went 2-1 up after 18 seconds of the second half and then scored a 3rd midway through the 2nd half. Whilst we then spurned 2 good chances to put the game out of sight, we were never cruising . Conceding a 2nd didn't result in a momentum shift and we saw the game out relatively comfortably. A very towsy affair. Good to play teams from different regions. We are off to Dundee next month, for a different experience.

Chris_the_rover
Enjoyed the set up at Fauldhouse, far better than some of the dross in our league, 8-0 didn't flatter Rovers it could have been double figures very easily, couple good stops by the keeper, 4 divisions of a difference showed but all the best to Fauldhouse going forward, would love to play them again in the near future

Your equaliser was an absolute howler from our keeper, passing it straight to your forward to then stroke home with ease. Early 2nd half goal and we were struggling. Kudos to Lanark however, they looked disciplined and each player stuck to his task, also felt Lanark wanted it more and it showed 2nd half. Me and the lads enjoyed the banter with some of the locals,pre-match in Maisie's bar, good lads

Our equaliser was hilarious, although not from your perspective. Our 3rd was a nice goal. A good competitive game.

HibeeJibee
If we exclude the badly disrupted and ultimately abandoned R2 of 2020-21, this all-in Round of 128 is the biggest in Scottish senior football since Victorian times. Good variety of road trips for some clubs - and several will be glad of the travel subsidies the competition provides. I've broken it into quarters for these talking points: Abbey Vale v Dalkeith Thistle Albion Rovers v Dunipace Arniston Rangers v Cumbernauld Colts Arthurlie v Easterhouse Bathgate Thistle v Girvan Beith v Armadale Thistle Berwick Rangers v Heriot-Watt University Bo'ness Athletic v Auchinleck Talbot BSC Glasgow v Lesmahagow Campbeltown Pupils v Linton Hotspur Clydebank v Caledonian Locomotives Coldstream v Blackburn United Cumbernauld United v Tweedmouth Rangers Cumnock v Lanark United Darvel v Whitletts Victoria Drumchapel United v Johnstone Burgh Lots of tough asks but Bathgate should progress; in form Linton can return from dream away day with victory; Dunipace can push Albion Rovers; while Beith-Armadale and Bo'ness Athletic-Auchinleck are really intriguing. Easthouses Lily v St Rochs East Kilbride v Tranent East Kilbride Thistle v Kilbirnie Ladeside Edinburgh College v Creetown Edinburgh United v Glasgow United Eglinton v Bonnyton Thistle Finnart v Pollok Gala Fairydean Rovers v Camelon Glenafton Athletic v Dalry Thistle Glenrothes v Forth Wanderers Greenock v Thorniewood United Gretna 2008 v Newton Stewart Haddington Athletic v Kilsyth Athletic Harthill Royal v Knightswood Hill of Beath Hawthorn v Edinburgh University Hurlford United v Penicuik Athletic Edinburgh College, Glenrothes, Haddington and Harthill will be considered favourites, while Camelon are also very capable of winning at Gala... Penicuik's trip to Hurlford and M8 "Battle of Uniteds" especially interesting. Jeanfield Swifts v Glasgow University Kello Rovers v Sauchie Kilwinning Rangers v Muirkirk Largs Thistle v Bellshill Athletic Larkhall Thistle v Thornton Hibs Livingston United v Bo'ness United Lochore Welfare v Ashfield Lugar Boswell Thistle v Craigmark Burntonians Maryhill v Lochgelly Albert Neilston v Peebles Rovers Newburgh v Civil Service Strollers Newmains United v Leith Athletic Newtongrange Star v Hawick Royal Albert Nithsdale Wanderers v Broxburn Athletic Ormiston Primrose v Cowdenbeath Port Glasgow v West Park United On paper Jeanfield, Leith, Sauchie and Thorton should progress (though latter cautioned by Whitburn's experience in Lanarkshire)... Lochgelly will fancy a shock in Glasgow while Neilston-Peebles seems testy. Renfrew v St Cuthbert Wanderers Rossvale v Caledonian Braves Royal Albert v Mid Annandale St Cadocs v Irvine Victoria Saltcoats Victoria v Musselburgh Athletic Shotts Bon Accord v Giffnock Thorn Athletic v Crossgates Primrose Threave Rovers v Benburb Troon v Dunbar United Upper Annandale v St Andrews United Vale of Clyde v Wishaw Vale of Leithen v Preston Athletic Vale of Leven v Kirkcaldy & Dysart West Calder United v East Stirlingshire Whitehill Welfare v St Anthonys Wigtown & Bladnoch v Irvine Meadow Odds will say Crossgates, Kirkcaldy & Dysart, Musselburgh, St Andrews and Whitehill should be getting through these while Troon-Dunbar is another particularly attractive West v East tier 6 'showdown'. Alan Reid, Rovers captain, played that game for us too As I said the ground was far better than some in our league which are horrible and soulless and ran by numbskulls, but I won't mention names *cough* Caledonian Braves *cough* Edited August 19 by Chris_the_rover
