That does raise the question of how much due dilligence was done on the shortlist in the first place given that people just aren't interested in moving. Is it down to the expectations of this season, asking a Leven or O'Carroll to come in and win the league first go?

It would be having a list of potential candidates they would speak to if required.  They wouldn't have gone as far as speaking to anyone.  Can you imagine the conversation...."Hi, if we happen to lose/sack our manager at an undetermined point in the future, would you be interested in coming in?"

But you don't need to talk to them directly, there are agents, other people to sound out whether these guys are even thinking about management, are they doing coaching courses with a view to management?. Did any of them apply to us at the time Murray got the job etc? These guys have to make a shortlist for a reason, wanting to become a manager instead of an assistant or coach has to be one of them.

When people said the timing was poor to sack Murray, its actually been poorer in terms of being able to pull in interested candidates it seems. Week one of a league season isn't a time where backroom staff are generally looking to jump ship.

I think they probably have done that.  When Hibs sacked their manager and there was the chance that Murray might end up there I don't think it would surprise anybody if the board had looked at their shortlist and put the feelers out to see if any of those names might be interested if Murray took the Hibs job.  They may have even had some positive feedback around it.

I think the problem they've maybe had is that was 2 months ago and now when they've went back to those same people, they're no longer interested and we've ended up having to come up with a new shortlist.  Would explain why the board seemed so comfortable and it felt like they had a plan....which now hasn't happened.

Yeah that's probably a decent guess at the current situation to be fair.

No word of a new manager for you guys yet? Have the club indicated when they will have a manger appointed? Thought after almost 2 weeks that you would have had someone in place by now.

3 Weeks on Sunday chap.

We're negotiating big Theirries digs at the Bevie Park hotel. Might take a couple more days!

Genuinely don't know what some of you expect. If they make no statement folk complain at the lack of an update. If they provide an update folk complain that it's not exactly what they wanted.

There is always an element of every fanbase that expect clubs to produce full transcripts of all conversations and interviews taking place.

There’s an element of every fan base who expect a statement every time someone on the board of directors goes for a shite.

Interesting, I'm sure I saw him somewhere this week saying he wasn't interested in the PNE job, so didn't think anymore about him.

Probably because PNE weren't actually interested in him.

A new name, would be an interesting appointment if it comes off, maybe Jim Magilton might happen after all if Healy knocks us back 😂😂😂

To be fair, Magiltons cheerleader also suggested Healy a good few pages back. 🤣

And still Stephen Baxter sits by the phone.    Waiting on a call.    Drumming his fingers.  Humming a jolly little ditty to himself.  Dreaming of an exciting life in Kirkcaldy.
