Bairnardo
Drinks manufacturers not making cans strong enough so they don't explode when you put them in the freezer and forget about them.Im pretty sure the expansion of the freezing liquid must create a pretty enormous amount of pressure. It would need to be thicker than a Rangers fan to withstand that.
Guest
Beer 4 packs held together with balls of glue. Just replace the plastic with cardboard, don't make me rip the cans apart

Would need a freezer the size of the Arctic.
ICTJohnboy
These cretins from the press/media who hang around outside Number 10 all day long, just to shout : ARE YOU GOING TO RESIGN, PRIME MINISTER? whenever he appears. Do they seriously expect him to do anything other than ignore them? What do these guys say to their wives/partners when they get home after "work" and get asked if they've had a good day?
Bairnardo
My boiler has decided to cease operations. The potential good news is that the fault code points towards ignition failure, hopefully its either just the sparker or the flame detection. The potential shite news is every year whoever services it tells me that you struggle to get parts for that boiler now, and they arent coming until Friday. The other more obvious potential shite news, is that new boilers cost a b*****ding fucking fortune.

The freezer is a great way to remove a cork from a bottle of white wine when you've no corkscrew. But it does take time!

I know a gas engineer, and he says the standard "struggle to get parts" patter only really applies to obscure parts that in the main don't go wrong. The main things like circuit boards etc are still plentiful. His boiler fell into that category, and he wasn't worrying about it.

Standard Scottish Gas patter for years (now smaller firms probably picking up on it) to scare you about how parts are scarce etc. If it is proper fucked then feel free to message me and I can send you details of a decent bunch who are really good value for new boiler installations.

Im sure its lighting, so its either not staying lit, or flame detection is the issue.... Updates to come if I make it to Friday without freezing to death.

It’s surprising how often doing simple stuff like topping up pressure a wee bit (even if it’s fine), switching it off at the mains for a while, doing any reset functions (if no reset button there may be a hidden function eg turning the heat and hw dials all the way down then all the way up then down and repeat).

Bairnardo
Been periodically hitting the reset on my troublesome boiler, to no avail all lastnight and today. Fucking things only gone and fired up there..... Good for heating and hot water, not ideal for boiler guy to do fault finding tomorrow.
