Have they gone right down the plug of late? Think the bottom two of test teams and Ireland and Afghanistan have to go through qualifiers.

Have they gone right down the plug of late? Because the ICC in their infinite wisdom have reduced the World Cup to 10 participating teams. When practically every other sport seems to be extending the number of places available in their showcase events to foster inclusivity and encourage the global spread of their sports, the ICC go in the opposite direction, pandering to the hegemony of the elite. Its certainly turning in Irelands favour . . . and as I say that another cheap wicket.

Fuctifano
Well, means other results are irrelevant now, win vs WI and we're through, lose and we're out.

John Lambies Doos
Feeling very booitsme, but Windies now 2/2 in the 2nd over! Don't know much about cricket tbh but are West Indies not a test team? If so why do they need to qualify for WC? Also I looked at table.. top 2 qualify so are West Indies not already there even if they lose today?

Also I looked at table.. top 2 qualify so are West Indies not already there even if they lose today? Windies will almost certainly miss out if they lose. Zimbabwe would only need to beat UAE to finish above them. All Test teams used to qualify as of right. However, the ICC have reduced it to ten qualifiers. The best eight in the One Day rankings qualify automatically, the others have to take part in the playoff. Windies falling behind Bangladesh in the rankings means that they have to qualify.

Frankie S
Evans bowling far too short here. Will get taken apart if he carries on like this. Looks out of his depth. Shame, after a great spell from Sharif. Edited March 21, 2018 by Frankie S
