Problem is he's so rarely fit. Crawley has a slightly worse avg than Denly but long term I agree he's a much better option at 3. Sadly I don't think you can take the risk of Wood and Anderson in the same starting 11 these days.

For me, I wouldn't be looking to pick Archer and Wood in the same side in English conditions. Denly is the only one that I think my side is harsh on, but with that side there you are looking at a settled 2 through 6 for potentially the next decade, with Burns probably having 3-5 years in him as well.

Other than that, I wouldn’t take issue with your team. Foakes/Buttler and Archer/Wood could go either way. Decent, if developmental, team either way.
Arthur Orton
A little quiz question Who has the highest test score for a right handed batsman and who was it against? No googling.

I wasn't overly happy when Hayden held the record with a display of flat track bullying wretched Zimbabwe. To be honest I don't particularly like Hayden, I mind when a lived in Sydney and the dweeb got bitten by a dog when out jogging and missed a game. In his interview he announced he was very disappointed with the dog. Aye ok mate the dug knew you were an international cricketer so bit you in the hand. Cock.

Lichtie78
England are streaming their intra-squad match tomorrow on their website I believe, will be good watching some live cricket again.
jaggyness
So, with Root missing the first test, do they blood someone new? Give bairstow/Buttler/foakes a chance as a specialist batsman, change the top four order for one test? Root obviously wants to bat at 4, do they punt jennings in down the order, move pope up and bring in someone else at 6? So many possibilities

Particularly given that Buttler is captaining one of the sides in the intra-squad game that starts tomorrow.
