Benjamin_Nevis
Erm, 7 wickets to spin. Didn't England only pick 1 specialist spinner? Who is Leach [emoji23]

Arthur Orton
An absolutely pitiful batting display for England other that Crawley. A wee boost for England though as lights go out, sadly for them they're back on...

If Anderson and Broad don't take a few wickets here, that squad selection will surely go down as an appalling tactical error. Admittedly England have extremely slim pickings when it comes to spin, but having Leach as your only front line spinner (he'll probably take 7-45 now or something). Catching up on the BBC live updates and that old fool Aggers still having digs at the pitch in the previous test.

jaggyness
The issue is that the soft signal is out. Without any zoom function it's impossible to tell if stokes has fingers under the ball. There has to be conclusive evidence to overturn the soft signal. It's a bit like umpires call, the on field decision is key.
Moomintroll
If there is any doubt then you go with the soft signal but I am convinced the ball went to ground there even though I would rather much that it didn't.

You have more faith in Leach than I do although tbf he does have a decent record of late, Woakes is the big error for me as he shortens the tail & a day/nighter with a pink ball is as friendly as conditions get for him overseas. The pitch is always the same for both teams as I have said previously, does he think India are sneaking a road out there in the innings break?

I think it probably went to ground, after looking at the replays they showed after the third umpire made his decision. Nothing he was shown was conclusive, though. It was piss poor.

Why bother taking him at all if not for this test?
FuzzyBear
I dont think that is a shocker of a decision. I get the soft signal but that looked like it hit the ground. Broad and Root would have been raging if they were given out in these circumstances.

Agreed, he was far too quick to make the decision but I am sure he still got it right.
Benjamin_Nevis
England having about as big a heads gone as is feasible in a test match over a catch that wasn't a catch. You love to see it. Also, first time England have been bowled out for under 200 in 4 consecutive innings since 1909 according the Beeb.

peasy23
50 partnership off of 66 balls, England neither looking like taking wickets or controlling the run rate. Leach is getting some good turn when he puts 1 ball in 10 in the right place.
