Benjamin_Nevis
The strange (?) thing is England have talked quite a good game whillst being pretty awful on the pitch, on all fronts, they can only hope Australia take their foot of the pedal for the last two Tests.Bairstow's interview on Sky there was pretty telling when he tried to excuse the shot selection of Buttler in particular on the basis that it would have more often than not been a boundary. Surely in a test, if you're on 3 you protect your fucking wicket.
Rhys McCabe Hype Train
Quite a good read and a damning indictment of Englands situation, with input from Paul Farbrace bemoaning the coaching setup within the ECB. England are in a horrible muddle and it will certainly take years to reverse the decline. https://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/120396/englands-test-batting-at-rock-bottom-with-deep-rooted-issues
jaggyness
What's the story here if England are unable to attend owing to covid? Forfeit? Test null and void? They play again from day 2 when possible?

No mention on the bbc report as to what would happen if one of the players tests positive. The Ashes: England given all-clear for day two at MCG after Covid-19 scare - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/59798189Been a good start for England, got Lyon quickly but Wood has just got Labuschagne to edge one to Root at second slip to make it 84-3.
die hard doonhamer
Reasonable start to the day for England. Robinson picked up Lyon without him causing to much frustration. Wood has now just picked up the wicket of Labuschagne for 1.
peasy23
Harris given out lbw but survives on review, just a tickle of an inside edge on it.

peasy23
I knew Anderson had bowled a cracking spell there, but just noticed it was 1 wicket for 1 run from 6 overs with 5 maidens. Terrific bowling.131-4 at lunch. 70-3 for the session, England's best session of the series so far.
Moomintroll
Game on a knife edge just now, cue the Aussie tail putting together partnerships that Englands top order could only dream of.
Benjamin_Nevis
Australia got to 267, with some useful contributions from the tail. Indeed Labuschagne ends up the only one in single figures. England lose Crawley for 5 pretty quickly, to the surprise of absolutely no one [emoji23]Didn't have time to finish that before Malan goes for a 1 ball duck [emoji23] Starc on a hat trick

Moomintroll
Extras is the 3rd highest run scorer for England in Test Matches this year, oh my paws and whiskers.
Benjamin_Nevis
Literally went to make a coffee and they're now 24/4 having chucked in and immediately lost the pointless Leach as a nightwatchman [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Close on 31/4. I'm not even sure the Aussies will need to bat again [emoji23]

peasy23
Ben McDermott hits 110 from 60 balls for Hobart Hurricanes to guide them to a win over Adelaide Strikers. No mean feat against the likes of Rashid Khan and Peter Siddle.
Eednud
Watching the Dream 11 Super Smash - Women game between Otago Sparks and Wellington Blaze. Being played at John Davies Oval in Queenstown. Has to be the most scenic cricket ground in Australasia.
peasy23
All players on both sides returned negative PCR tests before day 3 gets underway.

Has the quirk of the airport in the background as well, though it’s no Stoneywood Dyce
