die hard doonhamer
A rare time where England deserve a bit of credit. Toughed it out and survive the day, just! Root confirmed post match that Jos Buttler is heading home due to his injury. I can’t see Bairstow being fit to keep in the last match, so it looks like a debut for Billings might be in store.
peasy23
Didn't expect England to see it out, fair play to them. Hameed possibly gets another chance as there will be other changes having to be made. Bairstow and Stokes will both want to play, but whether that's a wise move will be up to the medical staff. Stokes especially has looked very sore.No doubt the bowling will be rejigged again, does Anderson keep his place as they will hope the pink ball will swing under the lights?
jaggyness
Hameed gone, and I’d think his place in the team goes with it for a little while. Not with the lack of options surely? Plus one of the big criticisms of the England selection recently has been all the chopping and changing

That will never change until they start playing red ball games in conditions slightly akin to the rest of the world.

That will never change until they start playing red ball games in conditions slightly akin to the rest of the world. This is the real issue. That, along with the fact that the quality in the county championship is too diluted. It’s time for the county championship to become the second tier of red ball cricket in England. They need to introduce a representative 6 team competition, that plays through the middle of the summer. Get the best domestic players playing against each other in the type of conditions closest to what will be experienced abroad.

Joey Jo Jo Junior Shabadoo
I conceded an 8 at Ferguslie once. Still seething to this day.
Eednud
Day 3 in Christchurch with over an hour to play Bangladesh 235/6 need 160 to make New Zealand bat again. Doesn’t look like Ross Taylor will bat again in test cricket. ETA: He won’t bat again but they did allow him to bowl and he took the last Bangladesh wicket on his 3rd ball. Liton Das made 110 but NZ win by an innings and 117 runs. Edited January 11, 2022 by Eednud
peasy23
South Africa in a good position again against India heading into day 4 at Newlands. They got India out for 198 in their second innings, giving them a target of 212 to win. They were 101-2 at the close, needing another 111.India set a record in the match, becoming the first team ever in Test match history to lose all 20 wickets by being caught.Ireland have beaten the Windies on DLS after a rain interrupted ODI at Sabina Park to level the series at 1-1.
Eednud
Today’s Adelaide Strikers v Perth Scorchers BBL game started at 10:10 local time. I know they’ve had to reschedule a lot of games and the Hobart test is a day/night but that’s taking the piss. Only good thing is the Scorchers are 8/112 after 16.3:overs.
Eednud
Warner and Smith out for ducks and Khawaja for 6 so it’s 3/12 or 12/3 if you prefer after 10 overs.

During the break Aggers was talking to George Dobell from The Cricketer about the need to revamp the county game. They both agreed that the pool of potential test players play too much white ball cricket. George said "You know my view of The Hundred. It's a turd in the middle of the road that everything else has to step around." Very well put imo.

peasy23
Labuschagne's wicket was certainly one of the stranger dismissals you will see.
peasy23
Austrailia 241-6 at the close. Remember how Australia recalling Travis Head gave them a weak link? He's now top run scorer in the series.Another good knock by Green too, looks like the Aussies have found a genuine all rounder.
Ro Sham Bo
Based on England's batting this series, 241/6 is pretty much them batted out of the game already.
die hard doonhamer
The men’s U19 World Cup has got underway today. Scotland snuck in to the tournament through the back door after New Zealand withdrew due to their covid restrictions at home. They are in a group with Sri Lanka, Australia and the hosts, the West Indies. Sri Lanka up first today and Scotland won the toss and bowled, and managed to bowl out the Sri Lankan’s for 209. This Sri Lankan side made the final of the U19 Asia Cup last year, so that’s an impressive start to the tournament. Hopefully the boys can back it up with the bat now!

Benjamin_Nevis
England shitting the bed again. Burns run out for 0 early doors, followed by Crawley for buttons. Root and Malan score well before falling in quick succession and now Stokes is out for 4. 5 down before they've even got 100 on the board [emoji23]
