I'd love to know the logic of not letting Sole bowl all 10 of his overs.

He should have been on as soon as Watt got clattered for 20'odd. They could get away with one over like that, but not two, and I don't see De Leede hitting Sole for 3x Sixes in an over no matter how set he is.

Hahaha. How can you compare the two?

England dropped Marsh on next to nothing and he's busy slapping their bowling silly. They could have had the Aussies 100 for 7 or 8 and given themselves a chance to save the series, but as usual for England, they got the dropsies when it mattered most.

What's the bigger embarrassment? Scotland not qualifying for a 10 nation World Cup despite totally outplaying expectations, or England getting slapped silly by Australia, at home, yet again?

At home? Yet again? Australia haven't won an Ashes test in England since 2001?

Berrington has to take the blame for that

Yup. I'd question the coaching as well.

Nobody had been tonking the ball out of the ground, and in most instances when they had tried it the ball was coming down well short of the ropes, so I don't understand at all the need to have your fielders right out and let the opponent run two's all day. You may as well bring them in 5 yards, because it cuts down the two's, it's where the mishits are dropping, and if it goes over your head it's probably 4 or 6 regardless.

The fact there were two catches went down with fielders running in 5-10 yards tells you they were too deep.

Yeah, if the ICC weren't shitebags who only care about the test elite, Scotland would still have qualified easily.

Yep, fully agreed. I'm not the kind of person to now rub it in, although obviously personally I'm delighted. Scotland were great this tournament and in all honesty, it's a travesty that this World Cup is so restricted as both nations (and also Zimbabwe imo) would have deserved to be there. Thankfully this is the last one with only 10 nations but in all honesty, biased as I am admittedly, I believe Scotland and The Netherlands have both more than shown over a long enough period that we should become full members. We're no weaker (and both stronger now imo) than Ireland who are full members!

Good luck to Scotland in the T20 qualifying tournament that follows in 2 weeks, I've just bought a ticket to head down to Edinburgh, this time I will be rooting for Scotland!

I’m sure they’ll take representing their country over some self-loathing loser shitposting on pie and bovril.

The only losers in view are those players who were representing their country with an inept display of bowling and fielding and question marks over the captain!
