Is he a legitimate Keeper, or is he the latest in the long line of "guys who average 40 that we'll stick behind the stumps and call a keeper" England "keepers"? He’s definitely a keeper and has been touted for England for some time now, but when Foakes isn’t on England duty he keeps for Surrey over Smith. I’m surprised Ollie Robinson wasn’t given the nod though, averaging 77 and nearly topping the run charts in the Championship this season, also striking at 86 which appears to suggest he can bat in the way Baz and Stokesy want.
Red Kite
Got myself a ticket for Scotland Men vs Oman Men, as part of a short break. I need the weather to hold. I am looking forward to seeing Forthill.
peasy23
Glamorgan trying to chase down a potential world record first class cricket target of 593. Currently 21 runs away with 1 wicket left. Edited July 3 by peasy23
peasy23
Ooft. Glamorgan needed 2 from the last over, Mason Crane managed a single on the 5th ball to bring the scores level. Jamie McIlroy got bat on ball on the final delivery but was caught by James Bracey. All square after 4 days.

For some reason the wicket keeper was only wearing one glove, and essentially caught him bare handed.

He was expecting them to try and run a bye if the batter missed so had his glove off to make the throw easier.
Jupiter Jazz
Been following my team Somerset chase down 410 against Warwickshire while trying to get some work done and just caught up with the Glamorgan game. Been saying WOW to myself for about five minutes. More Championship and less Hundred please.

Boo Khaki
It's a bit "lol" celebrating a last ball Tie when you had 592 to bowl at and failed

Sir Tarmo
Atkinson and Woakes get the nod to play with Anderson for his last Test, they’ve gone for a spinner too. Potts and Pennington missing out. That attack wouldn’t fill me with confidence against a top side but this Windies lineup has almost zero Test experience in England aside from Brathwaite, Holder and Joseph. Even without Roach though, their pace bowling looks a serious threat.
peasy23
I know the T20 world cup affected the schedule, but it's ludicrous imo that we are close to mid July before the first Test match of the summer.
Savage Henry
On a side note, I like that they’ve gone back to the white whites, rather than tobacco teeth cream.

Not cos I don't think he's good enough, just I thought after the rhetoric of looking to build up to the ashes he would be another to miss the cut

On a side note, anyone remember the West Indies demanded everyone called the the Windies? That didn’t last long.

I can’t confess to have seen much of Atkinson before this Test but he looks the type of bowler that should be going to Australia. West Indies’ batting certainly looks like it could be in for a long tour. Absolutely no experience aside from Brathwaite and Holder.
Fuctifano
Think this could be a fairly dull Test summer, Sri Lanka might be even worse as at least the West Indies have a couple of decent quicks.
