RJM77
Just watched it there, looked real bad the way he just stood there for a few seconds before falling face first, thoughts are with the guy and his family just now, hopefully he makes it through.
peasy23
Looks awful, just shows how much things like this comes down to luck. It hit about the only place that wasn't protected by the helmet, catching him just under his left ear. Hope he pulls through ok.
Eednud
No updates on Phil Hughes condition but Cricket Australia has abandoned the other 2 Shield games that were in progress. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-11-26/sheffield-shield-round-abandoned-over-hughes-injury/5918690
Jarkko Wiss
I'm thoroughly freaked out by that. I'll be buying my first helmet for next season.

peasy23
The worst possible news. Thoughts with his family and with Sean Abbott. I hope that they have the right support in place to help Abbott through this. He has done absolutely nothing wrong but will still be full of "what ifs", where the ball struck Phil Hughes was a tragic, horrible fluke and you really do feel for Abbott. I know a couple of folk who have been involved in fatal accidents and even now, years later, they still have nightmares about them, even though they were blameless.

From reports on Talksport, they were saying he was being offered counselling. I have seen a lot of support from him on social media too, but I really cant begin to imagine how he feels. I really feel for the guy. Just awful.

At the press conference the doctors said there had only been 100 previously recorded with only 1 cricket related.

HTG
Dreadful news. Really feel for Sean Abbott and hope he can get back on a cricket pitch at some stage - sooner the better in fact.

Dave1875
Don't have the slightest interest in cricket. But it's always tragic when someone loses their life, especially in a freak accident. Thoughts with his family and friends, and especially Sean Abbott. Can't imagine what he's going through right now
dorlomin
I believe he ruptured an artery in his neck and supposedly only 100 such deaths have been reported in Australia. 63* forever. Sarto Mutiny
A horrible incident and so, so shocking and sad. RIP mate. I hope Sean Abbott gets the support he needs too. This was not his fault. I hope he knows that.
