The video of him reading the statement is heart-breaking stuff. You can tell he's heart-broken and yet still fronting up to the media.
peasy23
Yep, no doubt when he took over the captaincy he would have thought through various scenarios that could potentially come up and how to deal with them, this one would have never entered his or anyone else's head. He has dealt with it superbly, even though it has meant putting his own grief in the public spotlight, and he hasn't shirked any responsibility as captain even though I'm sure that Australia Cricket would have let someone else do the media conferences. He obviously feels a great responsibility to the family that as the skipper he should be the one doing the talking.

Ro Sham Bo
Michael Clarke has shown a great deal of class throughout. The video of him reading the statement is heart-breaking stuff. You can tell he's heart-broken and yet still fronting up to the media. i watched the video of his reading at the funeral service earlier. It was lump in your throat stuff. scotfree
I'm not a fan of Clarke in the slightest, but he has went through this with decorum.

Eednud
Michael Clarke retired hurt yesterday on 60 and returned today and currently 113 no the 3rd century maker after David Warner 145 and Steve Smith on 153 no. Aussies 6/490 on a rain affected 2nd day. Play extended today until 6.30 local time so expect a declaration soon after making 500 if forecast shows no more rain today.
peasy23
Chris Woakes took 6-47 as England bowled out Sri Lanka for 239 in 49 overs. Woakes making a big claim to be in the World Cup starting line up at the moment. Rain then stopped play but the match will resume tomorrow with England getting their full 50 overs to try and win the game. Craig Kieswetter looks likely to miss next summer as he still tries to overcome the injuries he suffered when the ball got through his face guard earlier this year. He is still suffering visison probems and the long term prognosis still isn't clear. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/30413218

Savage Henry
The Australia vs India game is fascinatingly poised. Australia have got the declaration spot on and now India are 174 for 2, needing 189 more from 45 overs. All three results are in play. Brilliant, brilliant cricket.
Lichtie78
Nathan Lyon tears through India with a 7-fer in the second innings, and 12 in the match. One of my favourite bowlers in world cricket especially given his story.
Eednud
Brilliant last day win for the Aussies in a very emotional game. Great performance from Nathan Lyon taking 7 wickets in the last innings and 12 overall. Michael Clarke is out of the 2nd Test with a recurrence of his hamstring problems and word is out of the series.

Jupiter Jazz
Did I see somewhere out of the last ten one day series under Cook England have won ONE lost nine? And he's never a one day batsman in a million years. Who and what has he got pictures of?
