Big blow, as you say, but was half expecting it after he missed Grange’s fixtures last (including their Scottish Cup semi). Have seen nothing of him in a Scotland kit to suggest he should still be picking up caps. I suppose when its middled you have to credit him for having a good eye, but it should have any coach grimacing and gnashing their teeth. He's had a relatively successful series so far by his standards but boy has he had a lot of luck.
